When Tesla embraced Bitcoin intuitively I understood I needed to understand what it is and why Tesla's board bought some. Robert Breedlove finally got me to see why Tesla was interested in Bitcoin as an EV maker. Side stepping the inflation tax got my attention.

This is why Elon Musk and Tesla are killing the other automakers. Tesla is increasing profitability and sales even with the chip shortage because they're finding alternative chips and rewriting their firmware to support it. If you know what all goes into something that, it's mind blowing they were able to pull it off in the timeframe they did.

When other companies like GM or Ford hit a roadblock they throw up their hands and say "oh well, sucks to be us". When Musk hits a problem he doubles down and finds a solution. It's an entirely different mindset with an entirely different class of employee. GM and their employees want to build cars. Tesla and their employees want to change the world. Much like Amazon, like them or hate them, those are the companies that dominate and make investors rich.
Wow now I can see the tumble of the then Big 3 started after the demise of the carburetor and the arrival of computer chips.

New marketing. My pickup has a 10' bed :ROFLMAO:

On my pickup it's called a "tailgate."
On all pickups is called a tailgate - UP. It's usable space DOWN.

Just like the fold-down back seats in some vehicles.
I don't think anyone would not utilize the fold-down the back seat down when extra space is needed.

Maybe the salesman lied to me. I asked about lead time for a Model Y, that's what he replied. I assumed he meant all versions.

I was talking about the model 3, not Y.

Why I prefer LFP for my next EV.
I'm on the fence. They are heavier, hold less charge and its usable voltage range is lower than NCA batteries, meaning the BMS has a harder time figuring the range (power) left. They require more frequent almost full discharge/recharge to make sure the BMS has a good idea of its charge.

On the other hand, it's nice not having to worry about battery degradation over frequent 100% charging.

But regarding its low temperature performance, what I've read is its basically its charging rate under low temperature that is slower than NCA batteries, but a software update has apparently mostly resolved that issue.
