What does the pull with the ignition off do? Does it cut off the fuel, I thought it just cut off the spark.

I would think it would increase the gas in the cylinder

If you're using ether to start a chainsaw it's only going to make it worse. I have the same 590 and so far it's been fine, but I've only had it a couple of years. With a 5 year warranty you might consider taking it back where you got it to see if they can help.

I knew there was a sawmill 10 minutes from home but could never find the place.
Yesterday I saw this in the parking lot so cruised in for a look.
No wonder I never found the place before, there's never anything in their yard and no
signs of activity, yet one of their doors opened while I was there and seems all the action
is indoors.

Now THIS is a sawmill

I didn't think more than a few seconds on it, but couldn't figure out what the "cross table" is for, given it
looks like a typical band mill. It's not like they could cut from the side instead of lengthwise. It's as wide as it is long.

All my sawmill adventures and self education was leading to this.
My God milling lumber properly is an art form! I did not mill lumber properly.
Lots of adjusting and redesigning going on as I go But it'll get there eventually - sort of.
About 3 more runs required for proper hieght.

The left side is the original wall I'm replacing.
Then the other part plus more in the spring.

Apologies for the grass - all my spare time was learning to mill. No time for grass worries.

Got it. For some reason I thought he had his flooded and it wouldn't start and the goal was to dry out the cylinder. Now I understand where you were going with the advice.

Oh, and I'm loving my new Echo 501P chainsaw, I sold my Stihl MS362 because it was getting to be bigger than I liked.

I'm glad you are happy with your replacement saw, I remember you saying you weren't sure just yet.
