First OEM CEO that claims they can't make the shift to EVs that consumers are demanding. GM and Ford are at least trying to follow the EV path blazed by Tesla.
Although electric would be great in a Jeep, you have to wonder about the popularity of being stranded off road with a dead Jeep.
This may be where foss fuel still rules

Sounds like they knocked it out of the park.

"Stand it next to legacy pickup trucks at the same price point, and it's equally competitive. We'll belabor the point one more time: The quality of design, engineering, materials, and technology on offer are as good as or better than any other high-buck pickup truck you can buy today, not to mention the driving experience and the breadth of capability."

Makes my F150 look like a donkey cart. The downside is the waiting list is so long it'll be at least 2024 until you can get one if you haven't already put down a deposit.
The real haul test is 40 rolls of R-21 fiberglass insulation. A 4-door pickup is not a practical vehicle. Who is going to spend $40,000 on an upsized Subaru Brat?

Actually I hope they sell like hotcakes!
What's so odd to me is how over time the practicality of things become lost transferring into something that's beyond it's intended purpose.
My tractor is dirty and scratched because it gets used! Some people discuss what's the best wax to use on a tractor (?). Of course I believe maintenance is important.
My ideal truck has 2 doors and 8 foot bed. Within a few days I need to pick up 16 sheets of 4x8 osb, and 40 eight ft 2x4s. My $2,000 '93 F150 4 sp. 300-six will do that.
0-60 probably in 15 not 3 seconds. It's a farm truck with scratches and dents. Does it impress anyone? No...but it works so I'm impressed .
I use it all the time hauling horse manure, gravel, wood, etc.
A (truck?) with a side roll out kitchen? Who's going to use that? Where does it get used?
I can't imagine driving down the road looking at a computer screen. I like simple basic gauges.
As I say, hope they sell like crazy...I just can't begin to understand the practicality. I guess next we'll see a claw hammer with a clock and Bluetooth music .
