Tractor has about 1500 hours and has always been reliable
Was running it all day today and noticed engine was not as responsive as normal this afternoon
Half an hour later it stalled
I could restart it but it would not rev normally, stumble, and then stall
Cleaned air filter and fuel filter- both looked ok
Noticed engine would run better with air vent cock on fuel injection pump open
What should I be checking next?

Try replacing the spin on fuel filter located behind the sediment bowl at the rear of the engine against the firewall. If that don't do it, check the fuel cap and make sure it's passing air and if none of that gets it, you have a pinhole in the fuel line between the spin on filter and the tank outlet.

Did you inadvertently turn off STALL GUARD?

Is the PARKING BRAKE engaged?

When was the FUEL in the tank purchased?

Did not know there is a filter back there. Do you have any more info on it?

I appreciate the questions Jeff
Answers:
1. Did not. In fact cycled through the options and no change
2. Nope. And wished it worked that well but stalls even in neutral
3. Within the past two months

Check the fuel cap like 5030 suggested.....hopefully it will be that simple

Follow-up:
Removed the fuel cap- Still ran rough
Looked in tank- everything looked clean
Removed line from tank at fuel filter- it only trickled
I blew air back into tank and then it flowed well
Removed all fuel from tank and diesel look clean
Not sure where obstruction was but runs fine now
Will probably have to do a better cleaning of tank at some point down the road

Glad you got it running smooth again.

Never know - may have been a little bit of gunk that was just big enough to cause the problems

If there was enough crud in the line to block flow to the filter, would the filter be clogged as well?

I actually had this happen with a low hour l3200 a few months ago. I think all it would take is a bug, leaf or other little piece of debris to fall in the tank while fueling to cause the fuel line to plug.
