Been using a Tarm XL2000 gasifier here for the last 17 years, 650 gallon H2O storage and in floor radiant heating.
We used to also heat our DHW with the boiler but building a fire year round got old, so maybe 6 or 8 years ago we bought a heat pump electric water heater that runs year round.
During heating season it sucks up all the heat that the furnace radiates and, along with a 500 watt element if additional input is needed, heats all our DHW.
Mine's the XL2000 as well.
I keep breaking the gassification bowl.

Don't you have a coil in your storage for dhw?

The first one lasted 11 years then I went through 2 refractory tunnels in 2 years. Turns out there was a bad run of them.
Hopefully the current one is good [2nd winter on it].
There is a place to install a heat coil but with the storage tank I never bothered hooking it up

Same-ish here.
Mine was installed in 2004....I suppose.
Hope my next one is good. Tired of buying them.

Maybe somebody didn't have their boiler strapped down properly when they brought it home. ;)

Thread drift isn't out of the ordinary, and often keeps things alive. This is one of the longest running, almost 9 years old. 👍
