Our new local food store includes an ace hardware. There prices are only slightly higher than home depot, so if i figure gas into the equation, i shop at ace alot.

mind you, i wouldnt buy 2x4s at ace, but when i need some bolts or spray paints, why not.

I was finishing up my swing set for the kids and needed some snap links. They were 11.99 a PIECE!!! Lady at the register said they just went up to 14.99!!!😵. I am glad they honored the 11.99. I went to my local ACE because I did not feel like driving further to a Lowes. Not sure if it would have been a lot cheaper.

What insane prices are you paying for simple items like this? maybe we can start sharing where the discounts are at, if any.😁
I hope hooligans don't steal your swings and chains(or ropes). That is not the most secure type of swing hardware.

My car has a noisey Idler Pulley on the AC Belt. I can hear it on very cold mornings. Sticker shocked at $40. I took off the old one, used my needle tip on my grease gun and got grease into the Sealed bearing. Good for another 200k miles, I hope.

The TPM sensors started failing on my Tacoma. When they told me what they charge to replace them, it occurred to me that I had driven for over 40 years without an idiot light telling me that my tire was low... I figure I can manage a few more years without that feature.
:ROFLMAO:

And that's as good an explanation as I've seen for we can get past this financial downturn.

Decide if something is really needed. And if so, figure out how to fix it ourselves.

$1.029 very interesting April 2020 start of pandemic, everything shut down, oil down to $20/bbl. I checked my truck record book back to 2008 and saw I was paying between $3.599 and $3.899 then. Sudden realization gas price horrible now, was horrible then (same station from 2008 today has $3.899 gasoline, $4.799 diesel, ironically same as fall of 2008).

I bought an oil filter for our Hustler zero-turn..........................$17 for an oil filter smaller than my fist. I have yet to check online to see if the dealer down the street is just price gouging and giving "inflation" as an excuse.

A gas station along the route to my property was $5.49/gal for on-road diesel. I thought they were insane so I kept driving, figuring I'd get it cheaper closer to home, and I was right. It was $4.85 by my house. Less than 20min drive from the other station.

So there's definitely some predatory gouging going on aside from the real inflation concerns.
