I wish I had the photo of me jammed into a Ford Festiva years back, it was pretty amusing.

I've never had the chance to squeeze myself into a 911, but there was a gorgeous 300ZX at a local dealer and I just had to try; it was indoors and the end result was one cheek on the ground, leg under the door, the other cheek on the seat and that knee in my nose. At that point I was stuck, the salesman had to help me out between the laughing bouts.

I lust for a Z01 Vette but I doubt I could get out once in. Ingress would not be an issue, exit would most certainly be.

You've yet to say what the buggy is; two door Civic from the late 80's early 90's?

Actually, it's a 14 Ford Focus SE hatchback with a 5 speed. and I can get in and out no issue and the seat still has plenty of rearward adjustment. Average MPG in the summer is 40 with the ac on all the time and winter is 38 because of the winter blend weasel pee that passes for regular unleaded. Has a 2 liter GDI engine in it that makes 240 ponies so it's a sleeper. Only out of the ordinary maintenance I do is I run Seafoam or CRC GDI intake cleaner in the intake every oil change (5K miles) not the recommend 10K change. My buddy has a full size GMC Sierra 4x4 pickup with the big V8 and the Focus stomps it quite handily for acceleration and top end. I can hit 100 plus on an on ramp if I'm inclined, which I'm not.

Has a 140 mph clock in it (same as the RS which I should have bought instead). The RS makes well over 300 ponies with the turbo and came with a 6 speed instead of the 5 speed. Best part is insurance wise, they consider it a compact car, not a rocketship. I screwed up.

Ford no longer produces them. Big push at Fords is the EV vehicles and full size gas or diesel pickup trucks which they are loosing millions on.

Saw a Mustang EV the other day. Stone fugly.

I own a Ford F350 diesel 4x4 pickup truck as well. it spends most of it's time in the garage. it's well in the excess of 130 clams to fill it so it's 100% farm truck and I can write of everything, including the fuel.

Have not had a vehicle payment in 10 years and don't want one either. I do cash only.

The Focus was a solid little car throughout it's production, I especially liked the wagons.

When you described it as a buggy I immediately thought $3k Geo Metro, or equivalent from the era, not something relatively modern lol.

Had one of those as well. 3 cylinder turbo charged roller skate. A 4 wheel Suzuki sardine can.

Marketing wise....I thought the VW Thing was the "in" vehicle, but I guess someone at VW saw the success of the Bronco and evidently thought the Scout nameplate would be a better selling competitor.

Wish my 2005 Focus Wagon could do that. 28 mpg typical. But most reliable car I've ever owned, Maybe $2k maintenance over 17 years. Twice replaced the 'clockspring' under the steering wheel to clear the airbag warning. An alternator long ago. Just did the brakes for the first time at 145 k miles.

I think you're wasting your money. I've always done the European Focus recommendation, 10,000 mile oil change interval. I've never added oil. Now at 150,000 miles, it was down only a half quart at the oil change.
I think the PZEV engines are sealed against abrasive dust better than anything previous.

I want to trade this Focus in on a Tesla Y. But wife disagrees - "why replace it when it still works the same?".

You just have to work out the process. How do I know? I'm 6-1, 72 years old and have an MG Midget.
