Hi,
Just a quick inquiry and hopeful educated opinion needed.

After planning a semi rebuild on the tractor I bought, I have found that the crankshaft is at the replacement limit. I was hoping to do basically top end rebuild. However, this presents a different task. If I have to go new CRANK, then that means complete breakdown, along with new camshaft, all bearings, etc.

The deal breaker crankshaft measurements:
Actual now 2.113 in.
safe range: 2.122-2.124 in.
Replacement at 2.120 in

Is this tractor worth it? Just curious. The tractor is a 2210D and has a working royker front bucket, 4WD, PTO, I am in it about 1,000.00 now. It could be double that when the entire thing is done.

I appreciate any thoughts.

THANKS!

You can get the crankshaft reground, and oversize bearings fitted for both main bearings, and rod bearings. Take the crank to a good engine machine shop. While you are at it, measure the cylinder bores, both top and bottom to calculate the taper. They may need boring to oversize also. New piston and ring set are needed also. Connecting rod small end bushing should be checked also, and possibly replaced, then honed to size. Camshaft is most likely OK, but check it for excessive wear. Engine block should be also checked for deck flatness, this is the side the cylinder head bolts to. And also straightness of main bearing bore. This is usually fine.

Thanks. I was told to repost this in the Yanmar section, so I will

This is a wet sleeve engine. I have new sleeves, orings, new pistons and rings, rods were sent to machine shop and cleaned up and new bearings installed. I already have all of that. I also bought a fully loaded new head and new injectors as well.

Thanks, and BTW. Hoye has been a lifesaver in helping with advice and repair options as well as parts. After my latest call, I found that the company has recently been sold and the guy on the phone couldn't even answer the most basic of questions I had. That's why I'm on these forums squirming around for any kind of help!
