Discovered an issue with rear tire rims on my L3940 cracking at the lugs. . Looks like I can get a new disc for it. Just worried about the weight of removing the tire. I have BH so no problem jacking it up.

Just keep the tire and rim vertical all all times. Once they start going over, get the heck out of the way as you cannot stop it so just keep it vertical. I will warn you the lug bolts on your Kubota are fine thread and when you put the rim back on. be very careful about making sure the tire and rim are aligned with the bolt holes in the mounting flange so the lug bolts thread in without requiring any assistance until close to bottoming. Very easy to bugger the threads on the bolts and they aren't cheap. I know, been there and did that. Just another reason why my tires aren't loaded and why I run cast centers instead. A loaded tire falling over can and will crush your foot or break your leg.

Is it a 2 piece wheel? If so, you can just order the center disc. Other wise, the complete rim needs to be replaced. I have seen a a piece of steel welded into the center.

Just curious, if you keep a B/H on particularly when using the FEL or at least another rear mount implement, why load the rears? Remotely possible loaded rear tire contributed to the crack. Without B/H, yes loaded rears are a must for FEL work but a B/H provides a much more adjustable counterweight than loaded tires particularly when working a hillside. Loaded rear tires with a B/H is at best is overkill IMHO.

If you get it lifted just a small amount so the tractor weight is off the rim once it's unbolted you can walk it off the studs and roll it to some were to let it stand up.
Just watch the balance of it and keep it standing up straight and they are not too bad to roll around on hard ground.
Only thing is if starts to tilt too much just get out of the way and let it fall,
once they get tipped to far to easily straighten back up they become impossible for one man to handle.

Theres a guy not too far from you (Lancaster PA) who sells a lot of new & used rims, centers, tires, etc. PM me if you want name/number.
Do you have a 2nd tractor with pallet fork or bale spear? I usually drive the fork right into the center of the rim, then wiggle the tire/rim onto the fork/spear. Then you can carefully curl the fork upward slightly back up slowly and drive it away.

I'd strongly recommend a bottle jack and safety stands instead of relying on the BH jacks.

Basically you want to take the load off the tire but not lift it off the ground. Roll the tire out and back into place. The bottle jack will give you fine control over the tractor height for getting the lugs in place.

If you have a smooth concrete floor to work from you life will be much easier.

I disagree but your opinion and mine differ. I don't even own a BH attachment and I've never felt the need for one and none of my tires are loaded either. Why I run cast centers which is an option on all larger Kubota tractors. The cast centers give you the stability without the loaded tires.

All larger Kubota's have 2 piece wheels and some have 2 piece fronts depending on if the track is adjustable or not. Mine are.

Lou... Kubota's of that size might have 2 location studs and the rest are screw in fine threaded lug bolts. I say might because neither of mine have them, all screw in bolts in fine thread and I always put them in 'wet', never dry. The fine threaded bolts really like to cross thread into the mating flange. Been there and did that and had to borrow the flange tap from my dealer to chase the threads. Kubota actually has an alignment tool to facilitate the mounting but I've found it just as easy to line up the flange and the rim using bottle jacks under the axle castings. I would never consider using a BH to line the axle flange up. There is no way you could 'modulate' the lift pads on the BH to achieve the alignment required to start the bolts in and have them thread properly.
