Recommended Tractor for 4.5 acres

I’ll take a look at those as well. I’d be lying if country of origin wasn’t a concern of mine though. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks for the models, I’ll have to see if there’s a dealer near me.

I think his is a 30 horse model. I didn’t look that high up the range because we never really used it to it’s capability, I always thought it was too much tractor for the land. I’m quickly seeing that was the wrong assumption. Unfortunately, $25k is already towards the top of my price range, so I don’t know that I could go much bigger unless some of the other brands are considerably cheaper.

Thanks for the advice.
Make sure you check out Kubota’s cutting horse association discount. Free to join the first year and you don’t have to own a horse or do anything else.

I tend to agree with you but now I have an "L" size tractor to go with BX and find I use the little guy as often as before it had big brother. Just have something that handles the big tasks instead of spending hours on the little one. I use a lot to clean up after the LS is done. Just not as precise on the big guy yet and may never be.
Again don't be afraid you will have buyer's remorse as soon as you commit no matter what. It will all better once you learn the new toy, er tool.
I have an M4 and MX and often wish I had not sold my BX. But if I had to limit myself to one…it wouldn’t be a BX, B would be as small as I ever go as a single unit I think.

I started to upgrade and drop the old BX but thankfully decided to keep it. I can drive circles in place I have a hard time driving the LS tractor into. I can't imagine not having the little guy for tight spaces, like chicken coop, rabbit hutches, around the gardens and a lot ATV trails.

when i was shopping the nearest LS dealer offered me a mt342 with loader for 24k and change. that is a MUCHHHHHH more capable tractor than the SCUTs you are looking at. IMO the only real reason not to use a medium sized CUT is if the SCUT is the only thing you can get into the places you need to use it. but on that note my huge 5145 is so much more maneuverable than my old ford 2000 with manual steering and it weighs close to twice as much.

I once drove mine through some French doors inside to move a gun safe…don’t tell my wife.

I packed mine in a UHaul truck with furniture....

On paper, I’m really intrigued by the Yanmar SA424 & SA324, New Holland Workmaster 25S, and the Kubota B2601HSD.

There are two good Kubota dealers near me, but the NH/Yanmar dealer is a bit of a hike. I like the Deere, but the 2-series is considerably more expensive for the capabilities compared to the others.
The NH 25s is made by LS for them, it is comparable in size to the SA324. Check out the LS lineup. They have the MT225s which is in the size range of the 424. NH does not carry that tractor...

I would certainly suggest looking at the MT225S.

Good point. Unfortunately, it looks like the closes LS dealer is 90 miles away.
