I was going to say fuel delivery is the big improvement. Timed multi-injection events and other related improvements (4 valaves per cyl, dbl OH cam, turbo, etc)Metallurgy is a replacement for displacement. The first small block V8s of the 50s put out about 120hp, and dont live as long as a four banger 2.3 liter engine of the 90s, putting out the same power but doing 300.000 miles.
Yeah because like nearly everything automotive related or built now compared to the 50’s isn’t greatly improved?
300k miles is also a bit optimistic
