^^^^^
I saw something similar as we were both pulling out of a convenience store. It was an F150 pulling a 30 foot travel trailer and his rear end must have been right on the stops. I let him go first so that I could see which way they were going... then headed in the other direction.

Going to the coast, setting up an Air BnB.

I have not checked back through all the posts in this thread to see if this was already posted, but worth taking a chance to post it anyway.

It's what you do when you have two vehicles that you could not sell on craigslist.

I have never seen safety chains on any 5th wheel. But that is an interesting picture with the damage to truck and basically zero to the trailer...
There's no safety chains on a 5th wheel hitch due to the positive king pin connection. That's the same for big rigs or 5th wheel travel trailers.

Safety chains would be used on a gooseneck

Some 5th wheel trailers get converted to gooseneck. In that case, they require safety chains. It's a different class of hitch with different safety requirements.

Those 4 wheelers don’t look to be strapped down the best but I agree, hard on the truck but probably not that dangerous.

The float plane rigs usually take a 4wd truck, drop the rear drive shaft, cut the frame behind the cab & weld frame on in front of the former front of the truck. Great manuveribility & visibility for their specific task. No longer road legal or road safe, but plenty good for 5-10mph in controlled areas.
I should do that to launch my boats.
