Like boiled cabbage with butter and vinegar...
Vegetable or vegetable beef soup has to have just the right amount of cabbage...

One of our favorite Chinese dishes is Moo Shu Pork (usually made with shredded red cabbage)...

A favorite home cooked meal is leftover ham w/bone cooked on the stove or in a crock pot with cabbage and potatoes...

I don't know how many folks on here have had it or not but we do sausage balls. Mostly during Thanksgiving and Christmas. That stuff is ADDICTIVE!!!

I also am a fan of stuffed cabbage, AND stuffed green bell peppers.
It doesn't get much better than this!

“Stuffed Bell Peppers”

4 medium Bell Peppers

1/2 c. chopped onion

1/2 c. instant rice

1/2 teaspoon each oregano & basil

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder (or to taste; more if desired)

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2/3 pound ground beef

1/3 pound sausage

1 - 15 oz. diced tomatoes

1 tablespoon Worchestershire sauce

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Cut off tops of peppers; clean out seeds. Boil in salted water to cover for 5 minutes. Remove peppers, and let drain upside down on paper towels. Salt inside of peppers, arrange in baking pan.

In large skillet, brown and crumble ground meat, add onions and cook for 5 minutes, or until onions are tender.

Stir in tomatoes, rice, Worchestershire sauce, spices, pepper and water, if needed. cook covered for 15 minutes or until rice is done. Taste; add some salt if needed. Spoon mixture into peppers. Place anyleft over mixture around peppers in dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and 1/2 cup of cheddar.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese; let stand for 5 minutes.

Best served with toasted garlic bread.

Dog balls and golf food; a corruption of golf balls and dog food which in itself is a corruption of hard boiled eggs and corned beef hash.

I have never had stuffed peppers with cheese.
Never had to add cheese. I have to find the recipe, more hungarian style.
One of the few things my GM cooked that we all liked was stuffed cabbage. Never got the recipe, which is a shame.

My mother in-law makes OK stuffed cabbage and stuffed peppers. However, she doesn't like spicy foods, so she makes them rather bland, which is too bad, because they are really good, just not spicy enough. :(

Last year I made some Mexican style stuffed peppers when I had an over abundance of bell peppers in the garden. I stuffed with a mixture of ground beef with taco seasoning, Spanish rice and corn. Then baked them in a casserole smothered in red enchilada sauce and topped with white Mexican cheese. Just my own invention that actually turned out really good.
