I always thought it was so odd male birds are prettier than females and humans are the opposite!

Nice muskrat pictures.


I was ice fishing and had a muskrat bring weeds up through my hole in the ice and sit there and eat it right next to me. I remained motionless for several minutes. Pretty funny that it didn't realize I was a human. Finally, I moved, it looked up at me, uh-oh! Jumped in the hole and was gone.

I've had them come up in holes near me a few times, but that one was right there by my boots. Pretty neat moment.

I spent my youth chasing muskrats with my rowboadt and/or skindiving, so they have a special place in my memories.
