Good Gloves?

Decided to update this a little bit because I ran across some gloves I really like. I'm still a major fan of the Golden Stag double palm for most work because they are tough. But I found these Noble Buffalo gloves at Atwoods recently and bought a couple pair. They are thin but seem to be tough and have held up very well. These gloves were only $9 a pair and I didn't expect much but they have exceeded expectations.

Seems like a good price, next time I'm near Running's I'll have to check them out. How is sizing? I have large hands, and it's not always easy to find work gloves that fit.

I'm curious about the double palm gloves you recommended earlier. I always seem to wear out the fingers first.

I really like Atwood's. I've bought all sorts of stuff from them, including gloves. One of their best deals is when they put all their winter clothes on sale in the Spring. Usually it starts out at 40% off and works its way up as they run out of stuff. I've bought some of the best Carhart sweatshirts from there for less then $20!!!!

Are you close to Mabank? They opened a new Atwood's there and it's by far the nicest one I've been to. Granted, I've only been to Atwood's in Tyler, Kilgore and Jacksonville, so I'm no expert, but the one in Mabank has twice the ammo of any other stores, it's bigger, cleaner and seems to have more stuff to look at!!!

I have always had a hard time finding gloves that would fit. There used to be several manufactures that made very large gloves
but I'm finding fewer all the time. Now days it's almost impossible to find them as the sizing has shrunk it seems like.
I'm always looking for XXXXL and it is very hard to find in a normal work type or cotton throw away glove and even in the latex disposable
I can't find them anymore the last place I got them was a milkers glove supply and now they come up as unavailable.
It gets kind of miserable in the snow and ice working gloveless or wearing these crazy armored gloves.

I might have to check out that one in Mabank. The ones Ive been too are older and while they are OK sometimes they get a run down. The Waco store on the north side of town is pretty nice. Jacksonville and Kilgore and Nacogdoches Ive been to also. I order some stuff on line now since Im not always in E. Texas.

They used to carry Dickies brand but not anymore.

Is Noonday Gun Shop still in business out there on 155 south of Tyler? They were the best place for good stuff I know of around E. Texas.

The Golden Stag double palm gloves seem to run a little tight and they take a while to break in because the leather is thick. It's not double on the fingers but still durable. I have not worn out a finger tip yet. But I know exactly what you mean. I usually wear a hole in the right hand second finger before anywhere else.

Those Noble buffalo hide gloves have not shown any wear in that area yet and they are pretty thin and flexible. For $9 they are a good deal. Now, they seem to run a little large to me.

Try these Nobles and get the largest size they have. You will only be out $9 from Atwoods if they don't work.

I see the double palm gloves out there alot. Are people really wearing out or getting punctured through the single palm?

Typicaly my gloves wear the stitching out of the thumb or the finger print out of the index or thumb...or they get lost.
