What TV did you watch as a kid?

Ginger was dateable, but Mary Ann was marriage material.
Redheads are my Kryptonite :)

and then Charlie's Angels ... Kelly, Jill, or Sabrina ? Sabrina every time (Kate Jackson)

silly stuff, but too fun :)
I knew Kate Jackson when I was in high school. She was kinda cute, but too young to be a good date. She was only a sophomore when I graduated.

None of the cast wore the same clothes twice! And for a three hour tour. Except Gilligan's hat was the same. If I were Gilligan I'd probably marry Mary Ann.
Were you just referring to the women (and maybe Mr. Howell)? Didn't Gilligan and the Skipper always wear the same thing? Dunno about the professor.

My grandmother had a very old still working, high end TV, that would scan for active channels. This was many years ago. One night I set it to scan and it found analog cell phone transmissions I could hear clearly. My memory was it was on Channel 33, but have since read that it must have been on Channel 83.
At the time, I thought it was interesting that this was illegal. How did anyone pass a law, that made a simple act of tuning, which the TV did automatically, illegal?
From Wikipedia:
Over time a number of former television channels in the upper UHF band have been re-designated for other uses. Channel 1 and Channel 37 were never used in the US and some other countries in order to prevent interference with radio astronomy. In 1983, the US FCC removed channels 70 through 83 and reassigned them to Land Mobile Radio System. In 2009, with the move to digital television complete in the US, channels 52 through 69 were reallocated as the 700 MHz band for cellular telephone service. In 2011, Channel 51 was removed to prevent interference with the 700 MHz band. Additionally, in 2019 the US removed channels 38 through 50 for cellular phone service. The US UHF channel map now only includes channels 14 through 36.

Most likely when your grandmother's tv was made those upper UHF channels were still in use (or at least available for use). Modern digital tvs scan, so scanning per se isn't illegal.

Mr. Ed was a very strange show to me, till I figured out that Wilbur Post, a War Veteran, was suffering from PTSD: Then it all made sense.

I heard they put peanut butter on Mr. Ed's teeth, to make it look like he was talking...

"What would you do in my shoes Wilbur?".

The scars of war...can be a real SOAB!

I've read that the horse, Bamboo Harvester, later learned to move its mouth on cue, with out the peanut butter. So in a sense.... it was truly, "acting."

Edit: They didn't use peanut butter. They would put nylon string in the horse's mouth. The peanut butter story was later made up as a less cruel explanation for children.

On a 26" B&W with a cabinet the size of a midsize car I didn't miss Benny Hill, Love Merican Style, Commander Tom and Rocketship 7(local kids TV shows) Looney Tunes. I remember running home at 12 noon to catch The Flintstones everyday, over and over again.
Remember going to the local corner store and checking tubes that might have gone bad.
Big deal when Ma and Pa bought a new TV and it had UHF and VHF. In our area that doubled the channels you could see and introduced me to Public TV. PBS introduced me to Monty Python.
And the first TV with remote. My old man, ever frugal, didn't want remote control because he thought it was extra. But when he got used to it you couldn't pry it out of his hands.
Now it's a world of possible shows on an 85" screen and nothing to watch.

I've been watching clips on Youtube of a show which was on way too late for me, even as an adult. I never realized what a class act Johnny Carson was and what a great show he put on. He was a great interviewer. He did his homework so that he knew the right questions to ask; and seemed able to put anyone at ease. "Would you please welcome..."

I'll tell one more TV repair story. If they're boring or want more just let me know!
I had a contract repairing electronic equipment at an old folks nursing home: the intercom system, Muzak, call buttons, etc.
One day I was told the console TV quit in the patient lunch room. So as I'm working on this set in the corner and in front of the TV are maybe ten patients all in wheelchairs, some are drooling, some shaking, etc. I repaired the TV then as always adjust everything so it has a beautiful picture. I put the back on it, pack up all my tools and equipment, stand up and say "Well folks! What do you think?"
Of course there's no reply...except this 90 something woman stands up and yanks off her blouse and starts shaking back & forth!
It looked like she had four arms! . Soon this nurse comes running in "Mrs. Jones! Put your clothes back on!"
