An admission of guilt? Do you feel singled out? :p:LOL:
I will respond to this rookie response with a pro level response that avoids all personal subjections.

There* are some that feel their past makes them* a perfect mother hen...

What happened? When I left this morning, the discussion seemed to be on education and economics. Thoughtful subjects, worth some discussion, and a long way from politics. Isn't there some better way to redirect threads other than shutting the whole thing down?

I am asking the same question Scotty. We were all having a great discussion and then I come home and find out the whole thing has been shut down. What was said? Does anybody know?

I think you guys would have to ask Mossroad specifically to know for sure.

I was working today and missed it. But Mossroad seems an unlikely source, for a couple of reasons.

One is I that I don't recall him being involved in that thread - certanly not recently.

And secondly, just picking up a discussion and throwing the whole thing out the window is a rude and petulant act - and that's just not his style.

We can't help but speculate, but maybe we should not do so with names attached.

This is a bit of grey area for most people.

While I can see posts specifically about the current president's or the previous president's policies becoming a flame war of little positive value and distracting to the intent of this community, discussing availability and pricing is as much about government policies as anything.

  • Government policy affects inflation which directly impacts the cost of goods whether a new tractor or a loaf of bread.
  • Then there is the issue of plant closures due to lockdowns and related labor issues which has a direct impact on the availability and numbers of tractors for sale or pretty much any consumer item.
  • Then there is the issue of finding people with the correct skills and talents to support the production of our tractors or pretty much anything for sale to the general public
  • Lastly are the government policies that support or suppress trade affecting tractors or their components whether made in the USA or overseas.
  • There are a lot of other examples as well but, these touch on some major points of contention with the availability and costs of our favorite tractors and related equipment.

Again, discussion of any of these topics is overtly political to some and not to others. Where does this go from grey to white or black?

The goal is to offload all discussion, expect tractors, to other newly created forums...

The biggest direction seems to be to avoid pointing directly at people or parties. I think that applies to obvious allusions to the same.

For instance... Using an example from WWII...

Discussion about how appeasement helped keep tractor prices down would be OK. Praising Neville Chamberlain for enabling a dictator would not be OK.
