They could have an unregulated toxic burn pit next to them like I do. Be thankful for saving lives instead of taking them.
You must be near the Grayling military area.

Wow, this is the topic it seems. I also have an opinion that many may disagree with. To start, (A) wind power causes a ton of wildlife death where it is at. They don't work in low/high wing conditions and (B) when they fail.... hopefully you are not near them. As with solar, (C) most of this comes from China. without (D) government subsidies.
Wow!
(a) citation, please
(b) like with Nuclear Plants?
(c) Yes and no. but once it is here, it's American labor that builds and, maintains them and- as any businessman knows its the LABOR COSTS that getcha.
(d) Government 'subsidizes' all manner of ****- I'd happily bet a dollar that you enjoy a benefit or two of one or another or even many 'government subsidies.' e.g. Got a cell phone? Use an Internet? Drive on an Interstate? Use a GPS in your vehicle? Tractor? Combine? Purchase Gasoline? Diesel? Consume goods from another County, State, Country? Get emails from the county AG Center? Take medicine? Snail mail anything?

The landowner's simply looking to employ his land to it's highest and best use likely turning unproductive acreage into an income stream, profit center with depreciation or a triple net lease with semi-annual COLA increases - it's capitalism Jake.

keep that city **** away from the farms.

Well, you move out of the city to get away from people. Because you want to put a trailer in your driveway and a camper in the front yard and chickens in your back yard. Now you don’t like what your neighbor is doing so now you want to bring the city out to the country, so you can be like the government telling everybody around you what they can and can’t do on their property.

Has anyone looked into installing their own system?
You can buy your own panels and converters and put a system together yourself.
You don't have to buy all the panels at once just get a few at a time and add to the size of your system.
Search on you tube to see how its done

Yes I have, and it’s the only way I would do it to get a decent ROI.
However doing it myself, the cost is more than I’ve paid the electric company in the 25 years I’ve lived here, and I’d still have some payment to them for meters, etc.

A solar farm is a farm.

Anger issues? Lol
Actually, I am more like a parabolic mirror, whatever is directed towards me is collected, magnified and sent back at the source. Not that hard to figure out, just don't be a d--k!

I believe that they should be installed on marginal ground, pasture , brush lots and such not on good arable ground.

Of course the OP did not tell us anything about the land 'slated' for the Solar Farm. But the land owner has. He/she's contracted (most likely contingent upon approval) to go thorough the time & trouble (prospect pays the expense) of permitting approvals because the profit from the Solar Farm venture is greater than the alternatives.

And he/she should know!
