Having about 10 Kubota's with HST's and then switching to a gear drive hydraulic shuttle, I'd NEVER go back to a slush box again.

The power reverser on my Massey is simply awesome! Its automated 4x4 gearbox is pretty slick too! With Brake-n-Go activated, it is nice to hit the brakes and stop and then let off the brakes and continue on my way, all with nothing more than the pressure on the brake pedals with my foot.

The Branson dealer I went to said they were all built in the USA and were not owned by Kukje. I questioned that with TYM badging but, didn't argue the point either.
I don't think that dealer is correct...

I suspected the salespeople were doing that to beat the "buy American" drum with newbies buying their first tractor.

The ones That come to the US are assembled in the US. So I guess if you are a certain type of salesperson then it is made in the USA. :ROFLMAO:

Chit chat with a purpose can sometimes be used to effectively screen dealers you don't want to buy from.

Yep, that's why I haven't been back. Just like the TYM dealer that told me three times the tractor I was interested in was arriving at the dealership on the first of the following week only to be told then that they were all sold. I haven't been back since.

And, an HST sucks big time mowing a big pasture IMHO.
I mow alot of pastures with a HST. I specifically bought a HST for this purpose.....because mowing pastures is 90% of the work done with my tractor. So I disagree

To each their own! Or perhaps the HST's I've used on bigger tractors in the past weren't very good.

I think it's a matter of preference and what you're doing with it. My experience has been that HSTs are convenient for frequent slow speed forward/reverse jobs but personally I feel like they just don't put the power to the ground like a geared tractor does
