Ok here is a new on on me... got a new set of blades for my Kodiak 5 foot brush hog... without giving it a second thought, pulled off the old blades and installed new one. Went to cut and they did NOt cut. Compared the new with the old and the new blade had the sharpened side just the opposite of what i have been using for 100 years. In other words, i had clockwise blades instead of counter clockwise. Never ran into this issue before. Anyone out there with comments about this ??? thanks.

Sounds like you put them on up side down to me.

No, there are forward and reverse rotation blades. My Hydraslide Hardee ditchbank cutter has blades sharpened on both sides. You can reverse the cut by swapping the hoses on the pump. You can buy the sharpened on either side or both sides.

You did not read my post carefully , the sharpening is just the opposite of the blades i took off... It is impossible to put the blades on upside down....thanks Workinonit....you get it.

on my particular mower it is impossible to install blades upside down... safety feature. The blades are not flat.

do you have part # from Kodiak that you can price on Amz? have had surprisingly good luck on finding replacement parts that way. if the knives are reverse sharpened as you mention, you have a boat anchor unless refundable.
