Canada Day

Smoke hasn't been so bad for us ether, it was bad for two weeks or so. We also got a record snow fall last winter for most of Ontario anyways, its a well known that after a winter with heavy precipitations comes a dry summer and that what we got... we had lots of precipitation early on but the frost was still present so it didn't get absorb... then in late May early June we had a massive thunder shower/hail storm that swept the country causing many forest fires to immerge mostly in northern Quebec... not the first time it happen and wont be the last.

We had a couple days of really bad smoke down here in Indiana. Pretty impressive when you think about it. Here's hoping for some good rains to help out.

In the mean time, it interested me, so, I read up on it.

Most were started by an arsonist who was caught and charged. Yet the media still reports it's all climate change and global warming.

I guess it all depends on what media sources and “information” you believe.
Different world today. Polarized agendas. Unsettled science.
One believes in socialism/marxism the other believes in freedom/capitalism.
I know who I believe and side with most of the time. But I still use my own judgement.

ANY weather anomaly, be it a fire, hurricane, etc is blamed on climate change.

Go outside and it’s sunny, then you get a heavy thunderstorm and a flood. Now that, too is blamed climate change. 20 years ago it was a sunny day followed by a heavy thunderstorm and a flood and just another day on earth, maybe blamed on El Niño or La Niña.

Call it what you want, but when you want to confiscate already scant savings of taxpayers while spending trillions on bloated government for more Parks & Rec., arming 100,000 new IRS agents or building trains to nowhere, it’s not going to end well.

There's been over 3000 wildfires in Canada so far in 2023.

Show me the arrest reports for the arsonist that was caught that started the most of the fires to begin with. That would be one person starting over 1500 fires.

You can't. He can't. No one can.

Conspiracy theory garbage.

Opinions are like a-h0les.
And moreover, I didn’t say he was right or take his side. Meanwhile I put up with smoke for weeks and still today, from ineffective forest land management.

There’s a reason for “conspiracy theories”. Frequent Lying from supposedly reputable sources is a main reason. ”Single bullet” theory, “Like your doctor keep your doctor”, “Russian collusion”, etc. are all reasons we have so many of them.

My brother in law investigate lots of these forest fires in our region and I had many friends and family member who are or where forest fire fighter and it is a major source of employment in our region, in general I would say its 70/30... 70% natural 30% man-made ... maybe 60/40 ... it it always has been, sometime the cause is something like a electrical transformers that blows up and that would qualify as man-made since its not natural and without human activity that forest fire would have not occured ... but in general its is vastly cause by lighting. The emphasis is always on the man-made fires because they are mostly preventable. Every fire ranger or ministry of natural resources personnel will tell you that a thunder storm with a short heavy downpour do cause more damage then generate good... For a rainstorm to generate any good in a dry environment it need to rain steady for a full day or more and preferably without lightning. They actually have software that monitor every lighting strike then they try to monitor it with their spotter plane (air patrol) but it is challenging because of the shear size of the area they need to cover.

Everybody is entitle to their opinion but the government is definitely capitalizing on this situation to push its agenda, it is getting a lot of attention because Ottawa, Toronto and some part of the USA are ''affected'' by the smoke, if it would only be some rural communities affected or without this agenda nobody would give a F$%# about it.

Who knows. Like has been said, seems you can't trust ANY media source these days. They all "glamorize" everything to get viewers. I have heard several times though that were people arrested for a few of them, but could be BS.

Anyway, I find my life is way happier and stress free when I don't listen to radio, watch tv or look at any news online. Life is best when I turn the outside world off, stay on my property and drive my tractors.
Exactly! So why spread unfounded rumors until there is proof?
