Maybe a new truck Ford or Dodge?

Whatever it is, it's not worth the money you'll have to pay for it. I don't understand how any vehicle builder can justify the cost of a new anything.... and FYI, Stellantis is bout to lay off 1500 at their North Toledo Jeep plant come February. I suspect it's because no one is buying them (probably cannot afford the payment). I suspect that Fords and GM will follow suit as well.

Interestingly, one of my friend's wife has a late model Lexus with the 'goldfish' grill and she bumped a parking pole with it and had to pay a $1000.00 deductible for a new grill. I believe the entire grill was about 1500 for a chunk of blow molded plastic. Crazy stuff.

Yeah...the Tundra grill is just a bit smaller than the bed of the truck... Kind of obnoxious. With it being so big you would think its air cooled.
I cannot believe those hideously large grills contribute of good fuel mileage either. There is a Toyota dealer up town I go buy all the time and they have their bulbous nosed pickup trucks lined up out front, and they all look ugly to me, but then so do Rams and Fords as well. Guess it's the 'macho' look or something.

Kind of like the pickup truck drivers that drive down the road with a large (fake) set of bull gonads hanging from their trailer hitch or the ones that have a super bright, poorly aimed light bar on the roof, that blinds everyone coming at that them and little do they know (or care) that they are for off road use only.... Many times I've resisted the urge to pull out my Kimber 45 acp and remove their light bar from existence....lol.

My favorite 'modification' has to be the oversized tires sticking out of all the fender wells however even though they never leave the pavement, that and the truck jacked up to 'nosebleed' height.

Anyone ever notice how some people only like what THEY do, buy, or think is right, and if anyone else does something different, they trash it?

I don’t know what made me think of that. It just popped into my head.

I dunno. I have vehicles ranging from minuscule to weighing some 40,000 lbs., and from quite slow to (supposedly) able to reach 199 mph.

Therefore I only trash the ones that makes little sense to own no matter how you look at it.
Thankfully I'm not in the least opinionated, which helps.

With the power output and towing capabilities of modern trucks, they require quite a large radiator, intercooler, A/C condenser, trans cooler, power steering cooler, fan & shroud...that the grilles have to be a good bit larger to keep the temperatures in check. So it's not all for the "macho" look

Yeah those old early 7.3L powerstrokes were only putting out a little over 200HP, so a small radiator could keep them cool compared to a modern diesel truck.

Okay, I'm getting an allergic reaction to these excessive mentions of "truck". Could we please refer to pickups as pickups and save "truck" for actual trucks?

By the way, this has been festering for over two decades, when a neighbor called his S10 Blazer a "truck". And full disclosure: To me a 1500 is a car with a bed on the back.

Yes and no. I think it's largely a styling exercise.

For example, my little 1500 puts out more power (on paper) than my 3500 Cummins does, and it has a relatively small grille.

Then again, it doesn't have an intercooler, just a charge air cooler.
