In the several tractors I have owned, I had pre-conceived notions of what the biggest thing I would ever do with it. First tractor I ever owned: JD 790. Made by Yanmar in Japan. Absolutely great tractor. I moved so much brush, trees, rocks and things. Ran a 5 foot bush hog on it. Ran a 7 foot finish mower on it. Had the 70 FEL on it. Box blades, landscape rakes, tillers. What I finally discovered, after a few months, was as great of a tractor it was, it wasn't big enough to do all the chores I needed done on my farm. Especially in a timely manner. I kept it for almost 10 years. Sold it and the implements I bought for it for almost as much as I paid new for it 10 years earlier. I upgraded to a JD 5055D. Great, more weight, more horse power, bigger loader, can power much larger implements. Great tractor. NO Tier Final 4 emissions. Now that my farm is pretty much whipped into shape, I am finding I am not using it half as much as I used to. 14 years later, I am starting to eye a full cab track loader. It has more horse power, can get into tighter areas than my 5055D could ever imagine getting into. It will float on mud. It can dig. It has all programmable, joy stick controls. It has heat and air. It has an unlimited amount of implements you can attach to and run on hydraulics. Forestry heads, brush cutters, forks, grapples, trenchers.....the list goes on and on. Now, my eyes have gotten bigger than my wallet.
I guess what I am trying to say is: Whatever you end up buying, you will find it limitations within a few short months and then you will be looking at something a little bigger. And, that's OK. That is why there is a really good used market on CUT.
