Most car rentals do not allow you to take the car out of state, unless contracted to do so
I dunno.California is a great state, easily the best weather in the lower 48, and with amazing landscape to boot. If you could only get rid of most of the Californians, all of the illegals, and nearly all of their government, it'd be a great place to live.![]()
I actually miss going to Seattle and San Francisco back the way they were over 15 years ago. I hvae almost 0 interest in going to either now. On my own dime anyway, certianly.Never been to Seattle and now that it’s the remake of San Francisco. I don’t think I’ll ever go there in my future.!
I wish I would’ve gone and seen Seattle when I was a young man and before it kind of went…… Well, I won’t say the what I was going to say because it might get a little political, and I promised myself to be better about that, but I have seen enough on the news about how it is now that I do not have any desire to goI actually miss going to Seattle and San Francisco back the way they were over 15 years ago. I really enjoyed the Seattle area. Some very nice interesting places there at the time.I wish I would’ve gone and seen Seattle when I was a young man and before it kind of went…… Well, I won’t say the what I was going to say because it might get a little political, and I promised myself to be better about that, but I have seen enough on the news about how it is now that I do not have any desire to go
In 2016 and 2017 I traveled to SFO and the east Bay for about 22 trips so I spent a lot of time in the general vicinity, as it was just starting to fall apart as far as what I understood. I never felt safe enough to spend any time downtown, although I did drive through it just to get the general feel and also took the time to drive across the bridge, but I did take the time to see the coast and travel down Highway One halfway to LA and to go see the redwoods a few times on weekends that I stayed over. Took several road trips around northern California on the weekends I was stuck there.I really enjoyed the Seattle area. Some very nice interesting places there at the time.
SF was really nice the times I went there. Usually stayed a week at a time for different conferences.
Baltimore is another city I always enjoyed going to but now I wouldn't waste time going back to, if it was my choice. The Inner Harbor area was were we usually stayed.
Our conferences were always at either the Mark Hopkins or the Fairmont. My preference was always the Mark Hopkins. I'm sure that area has a lot of cops now. It did even back years ago. I just have the 'been there, done that' attitude about it now and from what I've heard and seen in the news I'm right.I never felt safe enough to spend any time downtown, although I did drive through it just to get the general feel and also took the time to drive across the bridge, but I did take the time to see the coast and travel down
My mate was helping another mate who married to the West of the country, which is more or less city to city with a single farm between them. His inlaws said, it seems youre getting used to the city west ! No, he said, tomorrow night i take off with screeching tires back east. They looked dumbfoundedI have probably already made my last trip out there!
I remember seeing it, though I was several years out of high school when it came out. Being an east coast kid, I had no idea who Wolfman Jack was, just thought he was an actor playing a DJ.Anybody remember American Graffiti? That movie captured, mirrored, the California I grew up in. Beach Boys, Wolfman Jack, car culture.
We used to drag race on unopened new freeways. Now those same stretches are elbow to elbow traffic on even more lanes, seemingly 24/7.
