You Know You Are Old When

I don't really have a roids issue but if I did post them wouldn't you be concerned that people would mistake them for a FD52 facial shot? (y)
Not if posted by "masseyrider"...they would just leave off the "m".

I miss the 1970 340ci Dart with 4 spd… that and 70 340ci Baracuda with 4 spd would bring some good money today as California rust free cars.
My Duster had a 318...it was no slouch either, and got a lot better gas mileage than the 340s...22-23 highway if I didn't let my foot get too heavy. A true one-owner car, bought it new and drove it 13 years and ~280k before it succumbed to rust.

Rust is the demise of many but wrecking yards here are full of rust free cars that can’t pass smog or maybe an expensive mechanical problem makes repairing too costly.

Almost no one remembers 4-track… still have a few from gamps.
There may have been more than one 4-track standard? When I was playing garage bands in the late 1980's / early 1990's, everyone had a 4-track (most often Tascam Portastudio) for recording demo tapes. They used regular stereo 2-sided cassettes, but rather than using 2 tracks for left/right side A and the other 2 tracks for left/right side B, they just used all four tracks in one direction. Easy to play backwards during the Satanic Panic era, by just flipping the cassette. :D

Anyway, no one was playing these tapes in a stereo system, they had to be mastered down to regular stereo or mono, usually from the Tascam to a regular stereo cassette recorder.

I think you are right as the 4 track is larger than a 8 track and heard it was from the 60's predating the 8 track but never caught on.

I remember Betamax.

Then again, I used to have an 8 track tape player in my car!!!
I had a Betamax machine, the video quality was better than JVC's VHS, but Sony's Betamax licensing was expensive and the VHS format was basically open, so Betamax lost out.
