Yeah, that is a problem. I’m slowly accumulating different batteries and chargers. I have DeWalt, Makita, Ryobi, and now Hercules. I originally vowed to stay with just DeWalt, and then somehow….
Can you name a cordless tool made in the U.S.? DeWalt is assembled here, but parts are “sourced worldwide.” Another brand?
YES, I forgot .. I also have Makita drill and impact. I just purchased a Ryobi right angle drill !
Good batteries are not cheap. I am “married” to Dewalt so it would a really special offering for me to buy another make.
I have an old HF drill with an obsolete battery. I should toss it. But I think they have standardized on the Bauer and Hercules tools and batteries now. I do really like my DeWalt battery tools too, but it seems like they’re all good nowadays.
Yeah I bought the same saw, plus the Lynx polesaw. Decent enough tools, but they discontinued them after a relatively short period of time. I did pick an extra battery when they still had them, but I probably won't be getting another HF battery tool again either for the same reason.
I feel the same way. Yet in my book, $99 for the HF tool, battery and charger vs $229 for the DeWalt tool only, qualifies as a special offering. I don't grease enough to justify the Dewalt, but a hundred bucks might be worth it to me if I knew the battery won't crap out prematurely. (My Dewalt drill is 10 years old or older, with the original batteries)
