Wow, tempting to get that and I don't even have an electric car lol
I've been saying similar for our area. We have a bank of 5 Tesla chargers that were installed sometime in the past 6 months.

Other then that, there's a charger at the Hyundai dealership. But your SOL on that one once they close since they have gates on the parking lot openings.

Not sure if the other dealerships in town have installed chargers yet or not.

$250 is a Good price on the charger for sure Think the Tesla wall connector was $450
Is not a “charger”. The L2 adapter is nothing but a glorified extension cord. The technical term is EVSE, Electric Vehicle Storage Equipment.

It is $450 or $475. But on purchase of my Y I got loyalty points sufficient to get a Wall Connector for free.

Tesla’s current Wall Connector is able to share a common circuit with several other Wall Connectors. Smart enough to limit current between, staying under the circuit’s limits.

I plan on putting 2 in my new garage. That I can use either side, and/or have a 2nd Tesla.

In years past the Tesla Wall Connector was considered such a good value others were buying then cutting the NACS connector off to be replaced with a J1772.

Yes, it is just awful how new EV owners “have problems” with things like rattles in an inherently quiet vehicle. The controls in a Tesla are different enough to prompt calls to service about how to operate. And the there are the lesser EVs from other manufacturers selling to even less informed buyers than Tesla gets.

Simply counting “problems” doesn’t weigh the severity of such issues. “How do I open the glovebox” is counted same as, “engine doesn’t start.”

I wouldn't be surprised if this is true, depending on how one defines "problems". Hey, it's new tech, there will be growing pains.

But I can also see a similar poster from the WW1 era, "survey found that new automobiles have 79% more problems than horses."

Heck, some Mesopotamian army general officers might have argued horse-drawn chariots have 79% more problems than foot soldiers. :D

It is a 9 month old article that includes All EV makers ... Some with a whole lot more troubles than most newer Tesla's , even though that is what was chosen for the photo.

Reading about some of the CR article

"It's going to get worked out," Fisher says.

The problems vary.

For established automakers like General Motors, it tends to be electric stuff — the motors, the batteries, or the software to control them. Which makes sense, Fisher says
:

Imagine if the auto industry had been making electric cars for a century and then suddenly decided to start building gas-powered ones.

In fact, long-term he expects EVs to be more reliable than conventional vehicles, because they have fewer moving parts. And he sees a lot to love in the EVs on the market today.

"They're unbelievably fast.
They're unbelievably quiet.
They're just effortless in terms of how they drive, "
he says."

Can't argue with that.

So at least 4 recent Tesla Model Y owners on this thread.

AFAIK none has had to be back to the dealership except mine and that was due to being rear ended at a traffic light and having a receiver hitch installed.

Tesla has built over 6 million vehicles, so yeah I bet a few of theirs ended up on roll backs.

Yep I was just using Fatjays wording which is also what Fisker likes to call them.

They are all smart Glorified extension cords, but improperly engineered can burn your house or garage down so maybe glorified is the wrong descriptive word.

I do like the Build quality on the Tesla wall connector. and the 18' of length.

Tesla deliberately names it Wall Connector, or Mobile Connector.

Yours is only 18'? New are 24'. I have an Elon Musk Signature Version 2. Gave my Version 1 to a friend, and have a Version 3 waiting for new house and need to order a 2nd.
