I haven't read though all 53 pages, but my wife bought a MYP earlier this year, so I thought I'd give my 2c.

Combined with the rebates, they were practically giving them away at the end of the 1st quarter in my area.

We get off peak electricity at 0.05c a kwh. So it only cost about $5 to go about 250-60 miles as long as we are charging at home. Which is 99.99% of the time. That's only 0.02c a mile in electricity or 1/10 the cost of a 20mpg gas car or 1/5 if you've got something that gets 40mpg.

However, unlike a car that gets 40mpg, this thing is a BEAST off the line (3.5 sec 0-60). Instant torque = instant throttle response. So rewarding to drive in so many ways. My 3.5L twin turbo truck feels broken in comparison. It's a FAST car, that you can romp on all day for a few bucks in "gas". Hell, it's way cheaper per mile than a my liter bike.

Obviously if you need to do long trips all the time, this is not the car for you. If you need to tow anything, this is not the car for you. If it's the only car in your household, it's probably not for you etc.

I hate all these EV government mandates as much as the next guy, but I didn't want to let that sour me to all things EV. The batteries suck compared what you can do with to gas, but those electric engines.... oh boy! When and if battery tech catches up to what gas can do, then electric trucks are going to tow like a dream. Low COG, massive torque, no hunting for gears etc.

Keep in mind that this is a car that you can get (or at least could get) in the low to mid 30's in my state.

Oh and I don't think for 1 second that I'm saving earth with this thing. I just think it's an incredible car for the money, after rebates. Correct me if I'm wrong, but no other new car anywhere near this price can do this.

Careful. You going to sound like a Tesla fanboy to the EV haters.

Hire mich did you pay for your MYP and did u buy it new?

Once you own and drive a Tesla you realize that they are the greatest car in the universe.
And the haters going to hate on that happiness.

This is just an ego stroking exercise.

"Hey, look at my Tesla and my ego".

How empty.

It’s not ego at all when you KNOW you are the most bestest and awesome car owner in the world!

It was bought new. With all the rebates (state/federal) it was something like $33K, but don't quote me on that. I know Tesla gave us a LOT off due to it being the end of the quarter. They also messed us around with delivery (canceled last second, twice) and the car had issues with miss aligned panels and glass that we had to deal with. I was annoyed at the time, but they fixed everything and threw money at us, so it's all good.

I'm no Tesla fan boy, but come on, who wouldn't be happy with near super car performance, in a spacious family car for that price? Every time I find something to nit pick, I remember what we paid and quickly shut up. Performance bargain of the century if you ask me. But if you're someone who values a nice interior and quite smooth ride, over out right performance, then you'd probably do better elsewhere.

There's people here who hate EV and that's just fine with me, they're not for everyone and that's OK, I can respect their opinion. Wouldn't it be boring to live in a world where everyone agreed on everything and there was no choice?

Well, the Model Y needs a better suspension.

And Tesla needs to learn how to make automatic windshield wipers work right. Their use of the FSD cameras isn't getting the job done.

Using mine the same way you folks are. It really helps with a low KWH grid price.

You got one Heck of a deal, early adopters that paid over 70K for a car that has actually improved since then.

I have found It can't tow a whole lot, but a MYP certainly can tow up to it's weight limit spec.

What happened to sd455dan’s post stating,

“Data from the National Transportation Safety Board showed that EVs were involved in approximately 25 fires for every 100,000 sold. Comparatively, approximately 1529.9 fires per 100k for ICE vehicles,”

Your comparison is like comparing a Shitzu bite fight to a Rottweiler bite, it is apples and oranges when it comes to peripheral damage a EV fire can cause and expense and danger to extinguish. But you as a Tesla " fan boy " are blind to that aspect.

Good to know an ICE can not burn a house down no matter it is 60 times more likely to catch fire.

Maybe next year we will buy a used Model 3 for my wife's business, take the $4000 credit and write it off as a business expense, along with all of the other business expenses.

In early retirement I probably won't pay any taxes 😂.
