Hay Ride Wagon Build

I hear ya. I know I better enjoy it while it lasts. My granddaughter kept saying “I just love living in the country!”

They live in the DFW metroplex and have never spent anytime in the country. My son and their mom were married earlier this year. Her dad is estranged and her ex’s parents are different. These kids took to my wife and I immediately and started calling me Grandpa on their own.

I hope I live long enough to make a difference in these kids lives.

Giving them this experience has already made a difference in their lives.

Great job, Grandpa.

💜

Eddie, you mentioned a parade and I don’t have any plans right now to do that. But yesterday morning I pulled the wagon to town to get the hay and they were getting ready for a parade in Mineola. Everybody was pointing and looking at the wagon. Some of the workers kept trying to direct me to get in line. It just so happened that the line was starting at the feed store I bought the hay from. :ROFLMAO:

I thought you lived closer to your storage units. How far did you pull it on the roads? I be it looked pretty impressive to everyone that saw it!!!

I live about 5 miles east of Mineola. But the wagon tows nicely up to about 60mph. It will jump a little bit if it hits a pothole but not bad.

I get a really good rate on those shops so it is worth the drive.

You might want to think about adding some folding steps that could fold up and become part of your rail/side when not in use.

I have thought about doing something similar but so far everyone can just step in off of that stool. It is light enough to just set in the wagon so it is with us at all times.

Looks great. The grands will have a lot of fun.

Is that actual straw or hay you are using?

I want a few straw bales, but hard to find around here. Not a lot of small grain farming, I guess.

3 of 4 kids will be out for Thanksgiving and we want to do a hay ride. Just pulling our trailer behind the SxS though. We have some other uses for the straw after Thanksgiving. Hay doesn't work as well (but would be fine for the ride).

We're headed your way soon...going to R&T for some trees.
