Well, I don’t know about you, but I’d take the 4 years in black (‘16-‘19) over the 4 years in red (‘20-‘23). Inflation has been as bad as it’s been in my time. I wasn’t doing much work in 1974 lol .

I mean what’s next? Comparing the last 4 years to the Great Depression? lol

Many of us were living and working in the late 70-80s and remember that inflation. Regardless, recent inflation wasn’t near the worst in history. You might also notice that inflation was lower still prior to 2016.

No record inflation eating away at that “wonderful time to make money”?

I suppose that's an issue if you're the type that just sits and whines about everything instead of being grounded in reality and understanding things are constantly in a state of change.

Do you ever tire of being wrong about almost everything?

People with money in investments see the gains. I have enjoyed watching my investments. What I haven't enjoyed is watching my young adult children pay more for goods and services to where they don't invest as much as they should.

The root cause is what aggravates me. Not so much the inflation.

That’s all you made? lol
Do you have H&R Block give you financial advice? Cause that’s pretty lame.
On edit: PM me if you want some better gains. I’d be happy to help you along. (y)

And November was the best month of 2024
The August low of 38499 and high of 41585 netted 3086. The trump bump went from opening on 11/5 at 41835 to a high of 44910 on the 29th (and fading fast in December) netting 3075.
August was by 11 points.

So Trump threatens tariffs and things have already begun to show signs of improvement. What a great step in the right direction for America. Love to see that other countries are beginning to respect us again. (y)

When you are at retirement age the wise money moves away from aggressive investments toward capital preservation.

I'll help you with English once more: Conservative investing is a strategy that aims to preserve the purchasing power of an investor's capital while minimizing risk.

So here you are displaying your uncanny ability to be wrong, as usual.

Sorry, didn’t know you were THAT old?
I have pursued a balanced portolio all my life. Plan on being around another 40 years.
And while you continue to personally attack me, which is usually against the rules, I’ll remind you the topic is about tractors/tarrifs, not about personal vendettas. ;)

I'm not going to complain, when our gains are 30% this year in our accounts. But it looks like November was the best month by a small margin. Certainly doesn't seem like the sky is falling. And it's up 1% in just the first week in December, which would equate to 52% if it kept that pace. But we all know how the markets work, they fluctuate. My point was, after a historic win by 47, it looks like just more winning, and we should all hope for that.

That’s more like what I am seeing. I have some accounts up as high as 35%, most in the upper 20’s. Heck even gold is up like 29%.
That is great, but inflation steals away investment money.
