I'm actually a fan of auto headlights especially with the way new dashboards are illuminated, and daytime running lights on all the time...

I dunno. I don't even wear a watch and can still tell when it's getting dark.

To me, if I didn't turn something on, it's off. And vice versa.

Yeah I can see you point of view. On different cars with daytime running lights without auto on lights, I can also see why they are forgotten to be turned on as I've done it occasionally albeit briefly especially with cars I'm unfamiliar with , however this was in a more populated area with street lights. Biggest thing for me is going from a car or truck with auto on to manually having to turn them on. Currently drive one of each mechanism so it's easy to adapt although I've occasionally forgotten to shut lights off on the car with manually operated lights cuz I'm expecting them to shutoff automatically lol.

My wife won't let me bring her car to the carwash anymore cuz I don't know how to shut off some of her sensors it's not an enjoyable experience loading her current car on a conveyor type carwash with a line of eager people behind you. Lol

That's not really an issue.

If you don't turn them on bad things can happen. If you don't turn them off they'll turn off by themselves.

How long that takes depends on the size of the battery, but they will turn off.

Ok new one unsure of it's posted but it's finally got to me what
over the years happened that apparently a large majority of drivers stopped using there turn signals? I'm not just talking about changing lanes but making actual right or left turns. I'm frustratingly perplexed especially during winter driving. Wonder if some drivers think turn signals turn themselves on automatically Like every other fancy doodad cars have these days.

I guess it's just too difficult to move that little lever when you're holding your cell phone with one hand and fiddling with the infotainment/HVAC controls with the other hand. Of course, then there's the clicking flasher noise that is so annoying.

I have to remember to turn my headlight switch back to AUTO every time I get the oil changed, because when they check the lights they always turn the switch to OFF.

Its been so many decades ago, I don't remember the last time I turned on/off my headlights.

Even with auto headlights, I still end up using the manual switch regularly:

1. When sitting in any parking lot waiting on a kid at an activity, I don't like to leave my headlights shining in the eyes of the other parents waiting on their kids.

2. Anytime I tow my widest trailer, I like to have the marker lights on even in daytime, to make sure that black behemoth is visible. Many of our roads are very narrow old cow paths, barely wide enough for two pickup trucks to pass without one going in the ditch, let alone a trailer and a truck. Those marker lights tell the oncoming vehicle to slow and pass with care, because I'm too wide to sneak by without some care.

The single bin, two opening trash cans in particular.

Are people really that dumb?

Hauling broken glass (sand) a thousand miles to a "recycling facility" at tax payer's expense, ticks me off as well.
