Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

I'm wondering how these things will be holding together come 3rd or 4th owner.

I'm the 3rd owner of my F350, and I can well trust that it has plenty of life left in it. I wouldn't put my money on a new EV, regarding long-term reliability, let alone one that's 4-5 years old with 120k miles. Not a Tesla 3, not a Cybertruck, not a Lightning, not a Rivian.

I live 10 minutes from work and saw 3 cybertrucks on the way home… a record for me…

Someone must be buying them?

There are two around here, very distinct; one has a green/gray wrap that makes it less off-putting, one is stock with a custom plate (CYBUH) that makes it more off-putting.

Last year I was seeing a handful of Rivian's, both truck and SUV, yet this winter I can't recall when I last saw one.

Meanwhile, there are a few F150 Lightning's that just seem to chug along almost un-noticed. Two I've seen are used commercially; one is a solar installer, which makes sense to me.

A remake of the DeLorean. with the same end story. I could be wrong.
I got a close look at one in a parking lot. Every quarter panel and the tailgate had spots that look like someone took a scotch brite to try and blend in the finish.
I think. It would be an imposable can of worms to maintain the finish. Thats why some are wrapping theirs.
I guess someone could design a carwash tunnel with spinning wire wheels or scotch pads to refinish the surface. :D
Not of my interest even if I had billions of dollars.
My dislike for Musk is not the reason why.
Its Bugley

With 'most everything in ANY modern vehicle being computer-controlled, gotta wonder how serviceable anything is gonna be 20+ years down the road. Semiconductors often have relatively short production runs, then become unobtainium.

Certainly a contributing factor for me, but far from the only one...

That's going to be a fun time; my truck and the missus Kia are "older" and I could see losing certain functions, but I don't think they'll be disabled. That said, I also expect my F350 to just straight last longer, it's aluminum bodied, and the frame is so coated that the metal will never see the light of day again. The Kia will rust out before it stops running, but that truck had better last me a while.
