I told you to git!

I'm you're Huckelberry...

This female, Red-bellied woodpecker is not the friendly sort. She chases all the other birds away. The male Hairy woodpecker was having none of it. She got an ass-whooping and attitude adjustment this day.

My local woodpecker is known as the high steal rivetter in the neighborhood.
Two of the closest neighbors have steal roofs and he also comes and beats out a rhythm on my eaves troughs.
On a gray foggy day like today it's not bad. However when the weather is good he starts in the very early AM (2-3).
If they'd had him working on the Titanic it never would have sunk.

At work yesterday I heard metal hammering. Looked up to see woodpecker pounding on top of street light. They do it every year.

It's always a shock when I see that there are place where people still have snow. We rarely get snow here, but Winter ended months ago, and mowing season started last month.

It's noon here in Kanuckistan's banana belt. 99% cloud cover, haven't broken 40F and, small as it is, possible light snow to go with some rain.
If on schedule garden planting is still 5+ weeks away.

WOW!!! My wife planted our garden a month ago and I took this video two weeks ago. Everything is coming up and growing great here.

I've been mowing with last year's blades, and I need to order a new set from Amazon. I also need to put the batwing back on my big tractor before everything gets too tall.

We usually start our seeds indoors on Good Friday (Easter Weekend) for things like tomatoes, peppers, etc.... carrots, peas onions and potatoes can go into the ground now.

Historically, here, last freeze is April 15 and last frost is May 15. It's been pretty hard on fruit trees the past few years, because the really warm springs have made them bud out early, then the get a hard freeze and it wipes the fruit out for the years. Grapes, too.
