2022 Bronco sport review

I don't get when people say if you don't go off road, 4x4 is a waste. Also, unless you have a 3/4 ton or bigger, you don't own a truck. People need to get over themselves.
I live on a dirt road, in very upper VT. We get snow, and mud. I need 4x4 during those times. I haul all sorts of things in my Ranger, yes, it's a truck.
Maybe those with the other opinions are just doing a d**k measuring contest... and maybe loosing.

Loved my "mini" Bronco, a 1973 model. Wish I had kept it - worth a lot of $$ today! More comfortable, more roomy, AND more dependable than the Jeeps I owned later.

Some people just gotta have bigger than their neighbor I guess.
I had a guy on the facebook 7.3 Godzilla group call me a liar today, LOL
He posted a pic of his dash display saying he was happy with the 14.3 US MPG he is getting empty.
So I posted a pic of my F150 5.0's dash after hauling my tractor to the last parade, showing 14.3 US MPG over 8 hours and 340 miles of running pulling my tandem trailer with my Ford 3000 diesel on it.
That's 12,808.5 pounds gross weighed on the MTO scales.

I also leave my trucks in 4WD ALL winter. Never broke anything, never wear tires uneven.

My Dad would lock in his hubs around the first of November with the first snowfall, and unlock them in April. But he did shift the transfer case in and out of 4wd as needed. I sure wish today's trucks still had the manual locking hubs and a manual transfer case lever on the floor. Too many people I know have had trouble with the "automatic" locking hubs and the dial on the dash that is supposed to shift the transfer case.

My '97 F350 came with autolock hubs, manual transfer case; for whatever reason the driver's side hub failed twice. Second time, I had it replaced with manual lockers. Similarly, I lock the hubs in the fall and unlock in the spring... or when I finally remember to do it. It's not so much snow here as mud and wet grass.

The "autolock" hubs haven't improved through the years. I notice on the off-road recovery YouTube channels they sometimes have to recover a newer 4wd pickup with the autolock hubs that refuse to engage so the truck is just a 2wd. Never understood the need for autolock hubs - what is so difficult about manually locking the hubs if you even think you might need them?

Don't know anything about the Bronco Sport. But I have a friend here who had the new full sized Bronco and just traded it in. There are no window frames around the door windows in the full size - something Ford did to make the removeable doors smaller. With his, traveling at freeway speeds and with a good side wind, wind suction would cause the window to pop out of its slot in the roof and pull away from the gasket and create a terrible howl. No way to fix that, with that kind of door. I had a convertible car back in the day that had the same problem.

We test drove the full size twice,,,,, didn't get one.
