2022 Bronco sport review

Actually it's pretty common to find powerful v8's in Wranglers. Once you get into the bigger tires, the 3.6 just doesn't cut it. My brother-in-law spent a small fortune having a Hellcat engine put in his Wrangler. Then he sunk it in the lake trying to pull out his brand new $300K ski boat that he had for a week.:ROFLMAO:
Oh I know it’s common. But unnecessary. It’s not like they tow heavy trailers. I wouldn’t think of towing anything but a lightweight trailer with mine. And yes 40” tires rob power. Also unnecessary.

How else will you increase ground clearance, or approach/departure angles without larger tires? If those are your goals, it then becomes necessary. 95% of the jeepers out there do it all for the looks. The other 5% do it for a reason.

My Dad would lock in his hubs around the first of November with the first snowfall, and unlock them in April. But he did shift the transfer case in and out of 4wd as needed. I sure wish today's trucks still had the manual locking hubs and a manual transfer case lever on the floor. Too many people I know have had trouble with the "automatic" locking hubs and the dial on the dash that is supposed to shift the transfer case.
We used to do that too, but I don’t miss manual locking hubs at all.

Having to pull them apart is grease them with a really lightweight grease and if you forgot to turn in it was almost always below zero and you were trying to turn them to lock them in. I’ve had five 4wd since my late seventies truck with locking hubs and very little issues and definitely less work than manual hubs and especially if you include the spindle bearings on those old 4x4s.

i literally offroad with guys on 37's with the 6, its a non issue. and we did hell's revenge in EV mode, so no you don't remotely need a v8 for crawling

On my Ranger, I shut off the driver assist, or whatever they call it. I was taking an exit off highway and it tried to correct it to stay on. Love the adaptive CC though...
you didn't use your turn signal... I'll just pretend I'm psychic

I have been Jeepin for almost 40 years and have seen every setup imageable. You don't NEED a v8 to crawl and I never said you did. I would rather have a V8 in a Jeep any day over the 6cyl.

you said it doesn't cut it, it absolutely does. High speed overlanding, I wouldn't be in a jeep either.

I also been offroading for as long as you as well.and usually above 8k, I've seen more issues with overpowered rigs, then underpowered, prolly 10 to 1

mud, snow, sand, dunes, yea my answer might change a bit, but the v6's of today put out what old v8's did

I have spent 40+ years driving on logging roads and goat trails every day for my work. All with stock 4x4 trucks and Jeeps. It’s about knowing how to drive off road. I agree that it’s mostly done for looks.

I remember taking my friends stock f150 offroad (slightly larger tires) and even after years of offroading I was massively impressed how much it did in a stock layout, we had more issues with the length, then anything else we threw at it that day
