John Deere 2032R
My new 2025 JD 2032R has been in the shop for warranty twice for hydraulic issues that they cannot seem to fix. I'm considering trading in for a new L2502HST. The Kubota dealer is offering 23k for my 2032R with third function and grapple (30 hours) and I would only need to pay a few thousand for the difference.

I am just fine with 25hp for what I need to do around my 16 acre mostly wooded property - basic land maintenance and tree/trail cleanup. I would be happy to get away from the DPF system since I don't horse my machine in high RPM most of the time and like to work slow. The L2502 specs are nearly the same as the 2032R - lift capacity of loader and 3ph and machine weight. Thoughts?

I agree. Trade it.

What kind of hydraulic problem? Will the JD dealer buy it back or give you another one? If not it might be time to bail on it and get the Kubota.

You will love the 2502! Mine has been absolutely problem free for 2 years and I beat the snot out of it. There will be a turbo out for it before long that will up it to 40HP, if you have that need later. The D1703 is a long lived stout engine that is capable of much more than the 25HP.

Seems you have a dealer issue. Have the problem kicked up the ladder. I am no hydraulic expert but find it hard to believe your problem is not solvable.

If, after 30 hours, you believe you bought the wrong machine for your needs, that is a different scenario. That happens so learn from it.

If you go with the 2502, I would look at the R14 tires. I use my 2502 HST almost exclusively in my 20 acre wood plot for logging and grapple work and it has been an absolute beast of a tractor. I had originally considered a Grand L or an MX 5400 but chose the 2502 for it's no emission & and no electronics engine and have zero regrets on this tractor.

Yes, the problem is currently being fixed hopefully but I don't have a good feeling about the tractor coming apart for repair after just 30 hours.
So talk to the dealer and ask EXACTLY what was the problem, will it ever happen again? and see what his reply is. If he explains exactly what the problem was, seems honest about it so that you can trust him... I would not trade the green tractor for orange.

If he gives you the run around or doesn't know what his talking about, then take the hit money-wise.

{Edit: changed my mind from above once I found out the problem will be corrected!}
