Hello,
I would like to know if Red dyed diesel will cause any engine or fuel line troubles. I purchased the 2023 Branson 2515H new and have been using clear On road(taxable) diesel from the start. I have recently been approved for a Red dyed diesel permit here in Texas. Off road use only. I have been running the clear On road diesel since the purchase in 2023. I was told by the supplier that it wouldn't harm anything but just wanted to post and see anyone's opinion on this. Thank you. Jim
Over 500 hours and running great-

It’s exactly the same fuel as the road fuel with the exception of red dye added. Do you think construction companies would be using it in millions of dollars of machines if it was tearing stuff up?

I've been running off road diesel in my 3 kubota's for years with no ill effects. Modern home heating oil is just ultra low sulfer #2 diesel with the red dye. I just had my guy fill up 2 drums with it that I'll use for tractors.

Really? I mean farmers, excavators, loggers, etc. run red dyed fuel 24/7/365 all over the country for decades.
Do you think we want 1/2 million-5 million dollar machinery with engines being ruined?

Just be sure you buy it from someone who sells a lot of fuel.

I've also been using red fuel in my tractors since 1994 when they first started dyeing it. No issues with any of my tractors.

However, I would check with your fuel oil supplier to make sure what they deliver is ULS (ultra low sulfur). this is recommended in most newer diesel tractors. ULS home heating oil has been required here since 2018 but the laws vary by state.

Just curious, I know nothing about Texas law but I can't imagine having to get some sort of approval to run untaxed, offroad, red dyed, farm fuel(pick your adjective) in a tractor. I can tell you that's not the case in SC. You have been paying state tax on fuel since 2023 that you didn't need to be paying.
