Summit TX25
I purchased a Summit TX25 from Home Depot in January 2025. On February 18 I ordered and paid for the BHX76 Backhoe attachment from Summit. They confirmed the order with an estimated delivery date of March 12 to March 17. Great news.

On May 9th I reached out to inquires as to the status of my backhoe order since I had heard nothing from Summit yet. Doug Rehor, the CEO of Summit responded with the email below.

Subject: Your Backhoe
To: name

Good Morning name,

This is Doug, CEO of Summit Tractors. I’m very sorry for the delay in getting your backhoe installed. We will handle it next week, contacting you early next week to schedule a pickup and return of the tractor as we take it to a nearby service partner to install.

We are going to credit your account $500 for the delay. Some errors on our side, communications was not good.

Again, my sincere apologies.

Doug

I never received the credit.

On May 22 I emailed Doug and told him that the local service provider still did not have the backhoe to install and ask what was going on and if I should just cancel the order and they take the tractor back and refund my purchase price. He responded with another apology and an offer for a free attachment.

to me

Hi first name,

You have every right to be upset. It was me personally that misunderstood the demand and the long manufacturing lead time didn't allow for a miss.

Want to make this right. The backhoes have arrived. Getting it there and installed by this weekend not possible though. Holiday weekend. Will get it there Tuesday, NLT Wednesday.

Want to make things right. Could you use a box blade, landscape rake, rear blade, land plane. Feel free to pick one and we'll send.

I chose a back blade. I never got the credit and now I didn’t get the attachment.

Passing of time…months of time. A few emails back and forth, much of the same and here we are.

to Doug

It has now been 208 days since I paid for my backhoe and I still do not have it. In fact, the installer has had my tractor for two weeks now because you did not send the full install kit. I bought from you because you said you were a veteran owned company. I am a disabled Vet so I thought that I would support your company but you have continually let me down and not lived up to your word. You did not provide the backhoe in any time frame close to what was promised, you did not provide the $500 refund for being a little late, you did not provide the attachment you said you would provide for being grossly late. I will now gladly share my experience on every tractor forum that I can find.

Greatly disappointed,

That is disappointing. Aside from the BH situation, what's your thoughts on your new Summit machine?

I had a similar event with my TYM T224 recently. Bought it off a dealer lot in July. Paid full in cash. The dealer found a problem with the loader as they were doing their pre-delivery inspection. It took 6 weeks to sort the situation and get a replacement loader shipped. In frustration in dealing with my dealer, I did some recon work on my own and found out who my area TYP rep was and emailed the fella with my phone #. He called me the same day. The situation was sorted about a week after. I don't know that it would have moved as fast had I not done that.

Regardless, I got zilch for the delay. Hopefully, the cash back and an attachment works out for you. Keep us posted!

You sure don't deserve to be dicked around like that, no one does. The response from the CEO and Summit overall is extremely disappointing, as I've read stories of them doing right by people in the past- it has me concerned about potential problems with the company.

I'm sorry that you're going through this, and while I hope your experience is an anomaly, I would genuinely take pause if I were looking at Summit. I would want to see how this ends for you before signing any paperwork.

I really like the machine. I've had a few minor issues. The cable from the joystick to the loader valve assembly came loose once and they sent me a how-to to repair quickly. The grapple that I purchased didn't have any of the hydraulic lines tightened and it shot hydraulic fluid everywhere when I first tried to move it. The machine runs great and I got it for a great price, I had been looking it getting one for several months and Home Depot marked down to $13999 so I snatched it up.

The guys in tech support told me that he has a habit promising things, like deadlines, that they can't deliver on and they end up taking the heat for it from the customer. I had an early response from him so I never got on them myself because once I knew he, the CEO, was aware of my issue, he was solely responsible.

That was a deal. Last I checked, the TX25 with a loader retailed at around $19K.

Yeah, that is a solid deal. Unfortunately that doesn't make up for the poor support after the sale.

No, it sure doesn't.

At this point I believe this is something you have to be willing to accept when you buy a Korean import machine, or one that's partially assembled in the States with import parts. I do realize Kubota and JD can have poor dealer interactions as well, it's just you have a bigger network to work with.

I really hope it works out for the OP and he gets his BH, an attachment and some cash back.
