How much for Rotella T 15-40

A friend just got a price of $446.92 for a 55 gallon drum of Rotella T 15W40. That works out to $8.13/gal. Is this a good price or is it cheaper buying gallons by the case?

I paid $39 for a case containing (6) 1 gallon jugs at Sam's Club.......

$7.42 at Wal-Mart for a gallon today.

$7.79 for a gallon jug at Autozone on August 25.

I think I paid $6.29 a year ago.

That's extremely expensive for a 55 gallon drum. The last drum we got was $100 less than that.

Where did you get you last 55 gallon drum from?

The price I found just got worse since there is a 4 drum mininum. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Tractor Supply has had it at $6.79/gallon for a long time. It seems the motor oils/hyd fluids, etc take longer to reflect the big jump in crude oil prices. They bump gasoline up if there is a hint of a problem, much slower to react with the lubricants.

Sam's Club has barrels for around $240

You can get it at Sam's Club like was mentioned. Our fuel supplier gets ours.

To answer your question. No, it's not a good price. The price is extremely high, even compared to gallon jugs. The two little gas stations close to me sell it for a little over 7 bucks a gallon.
