Hi guys, ive been square baling for 10 years, this year I just acquired a Gehl round baler. Ive read the operator manual but cant seem to find an "clear" answer to my question which is...
Once the bale informed to size and twine wrapped, ready to eject. Do I shut the PTO off to eject the bale and re start it after the tail gate is closed or do I keep the PTO running all the time. Seems like a lot of PTO on/off and throttling back the tractor if I have to do that for every bale. Seems to make more sense to me that the PTO stays on and tractor at Rev's while it ejects so you can Go again with minimal mucking about with controls.
I did read that the PTO must be on while the baler gate is open , but I also read you can shut it off after the bale is wrapped while ejecting to keep the bale neater....which seems contradictory to me.
Looking for the common and normal practice here, just wanna keep it simple.
thanks
