Hydraulics Shuddering/Jerking

I tried a search but could not find a thread that addressed my specific issue (may not have used the correct words). I have a 2005 JD 4520 with the e-hydro transmission. It worked great all last year. put it up for the winter and recently tried to operate it. It started up and runs with no issues. the transmission works fine. my problem is when I go to raise or lower the front bucket and or the rear bush hawg they start jerking/shuddering. I plan on replacing the Hydraulic suction filter and cleaning the filters to see if that helps. Just curious if there is something simple that I am overlooking.

Hi. Welcome.

Have you changed your hydraulic fluid to a different type? The problem may work itself out with a little use.
Check for water in the fluid too.

Thank You, I have not changed the fluid to date. I have about 370 total operating hours on the system to date. However, I will be changing it today when I change and clean the filters. I plan on trying to operate it some after that to see if that will take care of it. Fingers crossed that it is something this simple.

Is this the first fluid change? Are you the original owner?
If the first 50 hr change was not performed the suction line and or filter may be clogged restricting flow.

Have any of the quick disconnects been disturbed/ disconnected re- connected? May have a flow problem in one if the problem is not filter related.

Thanks Guys, I am the original owner. Oil was changed out at 50hrs. Next recommended transmission change is 400hrs (which I am close). None of the quick disconnects have been touched to my knowledge. I only have about 4 Acres so it is not used that much. The transmission operates fine. Just the attachments that are having a hard time at the moment.

I only have about 4 Acres so it is not used that much. The transmission operates fine. Just the attachments that are having a hard time at the moment.

Check for air in hyd system.

Fully extend and retract all cyl 4 to 5 times to purge any air.

If you see air bubbles in tank, then you may have an air leak in the suction line.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I finally had sometime to work on it over the weekend. Replaced the Hydraulic Suction Filter. Changed out the transmission fluid, cleaned the remaining two filters and all is well now. Everyone's help was greatly appreciated.
