Finding the Power Beyond Port for Third Function Valve - Kubota B2301 w/LA434

So, my long awaited grapple came in today with the third function valve. It's an EA Wicked 55 with a W. R. Long VK12 electric over hydraulic valve kit. I'm trying to work through the instructions but there is some disconnect. It states 'there is a steel tube that goes from the power beyond port on the loader valve to a port under the seat'. It also states in another part that 'the presumption is your tractor doesn't have a backhoe and if it does you may need additional parts'. Well, I do have a backhoe and I am not finding a lot of answers from Google.

With the backhoe, I have a yellow line coming from a port under the seat (female), a red line coming from the side of the loader valve (male), and a blue line coming from the loader valve (male) just in front of the red line. When the backhoe is not in use the yellow and red connect to each other - if not connected the loader doesn't work (found this out first time I took off backhoe). The blue line dead ends and is clipped to the roll bar.

I'm thinking that fluid must be flowing in the yellow to red line connection and it would make sense to change the fitting in the third function valve kit to couplers and connect them in-line with the red and yellow. In this case, I am assuming the red line is the power beyond and the yellow flows back to the tank. But I could totally be wrong.

Rethinking this a minute. If the power beyond port is on the loader valve and it connects to is the tank under the seat then the red line must be the power beyond and the yellow is the tank. Not sure what the blue is for? It might make more sense to disconnect the red line from the loader valve to run out to the third function valve and back instead of couplers.

From your description I also suspect the red is power beyond but would suggest contacting EA or WR long for confirmation.

There is a full hydraulic circuit in the manual, you need to insert the grapple between the loader and the backhoe, PB will go from FEL to Hoe, I expect from your description it is the red line. Manual

Thanks for the link - big help. Confirms the ed line is the power beyond. But I will contact EA all the same.

With the BH the typical approach is to tie into the power beyond before it goes to the BH. So the hydraulics would go from the pump, to the loader valve, through your third function and to the BH. I’m not a Kubota guy, this is just general or typical.

Unless someone here on TBS has installed the kit you have (successfully) onto the lower number Bs it is hard to arm chair this as you need to see the piping. Then it is pretty easy to trace things out. Invest the $100 to get the WSM for your model. It will save you more than that in frustration. Any one doing more that basic PMs will find the WSM to be gold. If the Bs follow the example of my BX the BH is the first implement off the pump. From there the PB goes to the FEL. That line is the PB. At any rate the PB is the one you have to reconnect when you take the BH of,f as that maintains the series flow. down stream. LOL
