This thread should probably be entitled 'in praise of the square U-bolt'. With school out, I had some downtime, so have been accessorizing the L3400. I've seen several posts on where/how to mount brackets for a toolbox and for the valve for hydraulic remotes, so thought I'd share mine. Both are attached to the ROPS via square U-bolts. Others on TBN have mounted the hydraulic valve similarly, but on top of the ROPS frame. I like the levers closer to my hands, so I simply modified their ideas by offsetting the mount below the frame by 6 inches.
In the last picture, note I also used square U-bolts to move the SMV sign up out of the way of my boom pole and post hole digger, and to mount a rear worklight. Hope this helps if you're looking to do something similar.

I would like to see a couple more though..
Could you show some on how the rear remotes connect it?
Been thinking about that and would like to see how others have done it..

Thanks,
Jim

Not sure what you mean, Jim. At the moment, the spare rear QDs are just dangling at the ends of their hoses, like on nearly every old tractor to which they've been added. Will probably weld up a bracket for them later. Two of the hoses are attached, via QDs, to a hydraulic toplink.

I am considering a project using rear remotes and I was just curious where you connected the spool valve to.

I just have not had time to investigate the rear remotes etc...

thanks,
Jim

I think this is what you wanted. If you don't have a front loader, you'll have to buy the block to which all these hoses connect.
