Water in fuel light

The sensor itself could be bad as well or the fuel... if you havnt had your data reset yet you need to do so. The easy way to tell is if you don't get a 30ish second glow time before and after crank you need the data set

Glow time? This is what my instrument panel looks like when I turn the ignition on.
Only three lights are on: battery, oil and water in the fuel.

After cranking and the engine is running,
the battery and oil lights go out and the water in the fuel remains on.

Your water in fuel light is right above your oil warning light that lights until she starts running. I don't know what that light is just N/W of your fuel gage... can't see it clearly when it is lit.... looks like a low fuel light, but could be a service air cleaner light, too... [ just what old eyes are seeing on your dash... ]

Take it all back, the symbol above the oil light is probably just oil, like the battery symbol on the opposite side. Clean off the glass, and take a picture of the top row of lights just to the left of the one I think is the low fuel.... I'd like to see if the water in fuel is up there. Usually has a symbol of a drop of water at the bottom. Sorry

Okay. Sometimes it actually helps to read the owners manual.

In this picture with the ignition turned on, the water in fuel, battery and oil pressure lights in the instrument cluster are on and the check engine and MIL lights are on.
The heat indicator "glow" light does not come on.

In this picture after cranking with the engine running, only the water in the fuel light is on.
The heat indicator "glow" light never came on.

Right the one under the coil symbol will come on for 30ish seconds before and after crank. Your tractor will need the ecu flashed... you will see results even if you don't have many issues at the moment id highly recommend it

Thursday morning, I'm taking it to the dealer to have the ECU flashed. In the meantime, I pulled the wire to the water sensor and the light did not come on. Checked the fuel. No water. Plugged the wire back in and light came on again.

Obviously a short. The sensor itself is nothing more than two pins spaced about 1/10th" apart so it should be an easy do it yourself fix. Looks for some dirt or something that could be shorting the sensor connector out. Look on the inside where the pins are for some kinda short between them.

Cousin Dave loaded the 5555 onto his car hauler and took it in to Collins Tractor in Crockett, Texas bright and early yesterday morning. Justin had it ready to go that afternoon. The heat indicator had a short. They flushed the fuel tank and replaced the fuel filter. All under warranty.
