    DK55 Front End Gears

Monday! Started moving a few rocks until I heard a bit of a crunch and one front wheel locked up. Service guy just left to get 2 new gears directly behind the tire. Looks like a bull gear and a pinon as well missing some teeth. Not a good start to the week.

    Return pressure problems

Comin down the home stretch with my overhaul on the hydraulics on my wood processor. All up and running but my return pressure is near 150 lbs. The filter system that was on it prior to my revamp has a 3/4" in and out and my return is now 1-1/4". Definitely chocking it back so I thought I would...

    Onan with weak spark

I have an Onan P224G with weak spark. It seems to be improving the more I turn it over but still no go. All started with a mouse nest in the usual place they seem to love. So far I have changed the ignition, plugs, cleaned spark plug wires and all connections, tested the trigger which is putting...

    Return line size

I was given some advice to up size the return lines on my processor to 1-1/4. I just finished putting on 2 new valves, a 3 spool with power beyond and an auto cycle downstream from that. Both valves have 3/4 ports on the return side as well as my cooler where they will run to. Does it make...

    Valve supplier in New York

Anyone know of a Hydraulic shop near Buffalo New York that would carry Prince Valves? Wife is going that way for the weekend and thought I could get her to pick me up an auto cycle valve.

    Open or closed center?

Back to the hydraulic drawing board. So I changed the pump on my processor to a 15 gal a minute pump. When I tried to start it (24hp onan) it would hardly turn over cause of pressure built up on hydraulics. If you pull any hydraulic lever it would start fine. I changed the valve bank to a big ol...

    Electric valve

Would it be possible to control the spitter on my processor with some sort of electric over hydraulic valve? It would be much quicker if there was a button to activate my splitter out and back automatically that way I could advance the log and cut while its doing its own thing. I know prince...

    Log Grapple

Got to try out my new Wallenstein Log Grapple today and its about the best thing one man ever sold to another. Took me a bit to convince myself to get one but it turned out to be a real time saver. Don't have to get in and out dragging chains and losing logs on the skid trail. Great invention!!

    Heater issues

Winter's coming and little heat in the cab! Anyone else have a DK55 that has poor heat output on a cold day? The dealer told me that they were known for this and just wondered if anyone had a solution other than a trade in. I don't freeze by any means but still gotta wear a coat when plowing snow.

    Auto Cycle Valve

Any one using a prince 5200 auto cycle valve on their splitter or processor? For some reason they pulled them all off the shelves up here in the North and I think I want to add one to my processor. Sure would spped up my cycle time as I could advance the log and start cutting while the splitter...

    Processor

Hey all. New to the forum and always in need of good advice. I recently built a wood processor and my latest chance if possible would be to make the splitter work with an electric switch rather than a hydraulic lever. This would allow me to increase productivity huge as I could be advancing the...
