Bush Hog - Mower rec for Mahindra 5155

Lots to consider, what are going to be cutting - grassy fields or reclaiming areas overgrown with saplings & brush? How many acres? Open fields or woods? How wide to you have your rear wheels set? These will guide you to a heavy/medium/light duty cutter and what size. Anyway, I have a 5055...

    Mahindra 3505 Di. Clutch problem

I have a 5005 and have read that the clutch may stick if left idle for a week or 2. I’ve had it happen and now I secure the clutch in the engaged position after use with a cinch strap.

Low effort, high heat food plot?

Buckwheat will grow at any time and grow fast. The benefit (one of many) is that it grows so fast it shades out weeds so you have bare soil below. Even if the buckwheat doesn't get to maturity, it will still do what you need it to do, which is keep the plot clean to accept what you want to...

Low effort, high heat food plot?

If it were me, I would broadcast some buckwheat (very soon) and rake it in, then drive over with atv for good seed/soil contact. IT grows easily and fast to keep weeds at bay. Then in September, broadcast some winter/cereal rye into the standing buckwheat and cut/mow the buckwheat after...

    Laser rust removal

I've demo'd one and it was impressive, but slow which I think is evident from the video. I had the same issue as the video, where it was painfully time consuming to get to 'white metal'. I would think that you would have less time to farm out sandblasting...including travel time to and from or...

never liked the ROPS now i have a reason

Had an experience with my ROPs yesterday while folded down. A buddy gave me his old rusted out cone spreader. I spent a few evenings cutting fabricating and welding new metal at the bottom of the cone. My ROPs was folded down and I guess I must have adjusted my hydraulic top link too far in...

Trailer size needed to haul tractor

I haul my Mahindra 5005 with FEL & loaded tires with a 18', 10k car hauler and a GMC 1500 with a 6.2. It all works well, but probalby pretty close to capacity for both the trailer and truck. I haul the tractor 2-3 times a season about 15 miles and its good. I wouldn't haul it with my 7' brush...

    TODAYS SEAT TIME

Moved a mini-bulk container, 1/2 full with water to my farm. (no water source) Using it to mix herbicides & whatever else instead of making the 10 mile drive back home to refill. Then I gathered up 10 bucket loads of trees & trimmings I cut last week to recover some more of the property (old...

Do You Have a Tractor Shed/Barn?

I recently purchased my grandparents 80 acres with no utilities or water. The barn fell in 20 years ago and the house has slowly been doing the same. There is an equipment shed where the old farmalls were stored, and it is in pretty bad shape, but keeps my tractor out of the weather for now...

    E350 di

I believe it's similar to my 5005, both the exhaust and air filter pull off (up) and then the hood tilts forward. If the 350 is also similar the batter is in the front of the tractor and you need to remove the grill to access/replace. Good Luck!

Mahindra 485 di rear def locking

Here's a pic from the Service Manual for my 5005 (4055, 4505, 3505 & E350). Fig 14 below shows the pedal, it may be similar on the 485.

Clear Thousands of Acres of Brush in No Time With This One Weird Trick

I use these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XWNSWK5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They cut like lasers and you definitely don't want to 'attack' the sapling, cut it like you would a saw and it cuts right thru. No good on rocks for sure. I have a Stihl trimmer I use line...

    Loader squeaking during curl

Been tracking down a curl squeak myself. Found the lower legs were packed with very old mud (new to me tractor) and both zerks were missing. Cleaned out, re-installed zerks and greased well. Still squeaked! Will lube the level indicator next use!
