I have a Massey Ferguson model 39 corn planter and the spiraled metal drop tubes are being held together with duct tape and aluminum from soda cans. I ordered replacements from AGCO and they are rubber and they plug continuously. They are so bad that I sometimes just let the fertilizer dribble...
I recently came into possession of an old Montgomery Ward air compressor. It turns over easily by hand, but does not have any inlet air filters. They should sit right on top of each cylinder. I'd like to know what type of material would be required to make new ones? They would be flat and...
Several years ago I bought a pair of axles & wheels to store my Kubota 60" mower in a vertical position, from a vendor on this site and I can't remember the name. Can someone help me? I'm not sure if they're still available, but I find it a great way to store the mower.
Thanks,
Barney
After mowing for a while (1-2 hrs.) I find an oil film on the battery compartment cover and on the bottom of the dash. With the covers off and the engine running I cannot find the leak. I believe it is in one of the four power steering hoses and/or fittings at the steering regulator ,but, I...
I may have to replace the chain oil pump on my Stihl 029 saw. Does anyone know if it can be removed without removing the crankshaft? I wanted to look at it but couldn't figure out how to remove it due to the discharge line? I had to replace the pickup line & had the clutch off and removed the...
My 2002 BX2200 developed a power steering hose leak...either the supply to the steering unit or the return to the hydraulic unit. The two hoses run together through a soft sleeve under the floor pan from the hydraulic unit to the steering column. I'm looking for input from those who may have...
My BX2200 has nearly 800 hrs. on it. Maintenance requirement is for a valve clearance check and I wonder if it is worth doing. Has anyone done it? What did you find? I use my tractor for mowing and snow blowing and have not noticed any drop in performance so I wonder if this check is necessary...
I was cutting last years cornstalks in a food plot when my B7800 suddenly stopped and a little smoke came out from under the right side of the hood. :(. A cornstalk had knocked the top off the stop solenoid and I was dead in the field. $200 later I'm up and running!
I have a three year old Kubota L4240 with draft control. Part of the draft control feedback linkage is a "holder" which slides on the spline of the shaft between the upper 3pt. lift arms(above the hydraulic cylinders) and a "stopper" a device which snaps into the snap ring groove and keeps the...

Is anyone using Pat's Easy Change System on a tractor with adjustable lower lift arms. I'm thinking of putting a set on a Kubota Grand L 4240 (Cat 1) and wonder if there are any issues with the adjustable arms?
Thanks,
Barney
What size and type of trailer will I need to haul a Grand L 4240 with loader. Probably 4500#, maybe a little more. 5000#? What length to insure I can position the weight properly wrt the tongue?

I have a Howse 2 bottom 12" plow. I recently ordered coulters for it and would like to know how folks set them up. If I plow 6" deep, for example, how deep should the coulter run? How close should it be set to the plow? Does the set up vary with different soil conditions ?
Thanks,
Barney
Does anyone know what changes ( if any) have been made to the Grand L s from 2008 to the 2009 models? I'm particularly interested in the HST models.
Thanks,
