Give me some time and I can take some better pictures of where the loader mounts. The hydraulics just have the lines run to the rear of the tractor. I just unhook the tilt hoses when I have to pull something that requires use of the ports but it isn't often. I do have a service manual, search...
Just an update and will share pictures later but picked up a 2016 gmc sierra 3500 dually (diesel) last week. 39k miles and super clean truck. It'll set us back a few years at upgrading our trailer but should make the trailer buying process easier when the time comes.
Well we made the decision to wait and purchase a 3500 dually. I was thinking a SRW but if we getting something newer than what we have then we're going with the dually. It's what I wanted to do back in 2015 but we never did and guess what...here we are, looking to get something bigger.
So in a...
Good news. The wife is on board for trading the truck in for a 3500 dually. We shall begin the hunt next week. I didn't want to ruin it by reminder her when we bought this 2015 new that we should've gotten a 3500 dually back then when I suggested it then..
Bad news, the new horse trailer will...
Did you happen to notice if they were newer 2500 or not? I'm thinking this trailer would be pushing it using our current truck but the newer 2500s have higher ratings. Payloads on a 3500srw are 4300lbs and have tow ratings of 17k lbs. I'm thinking we will upgrade our truck first and wait another...
We camp and trail ride with ours. For us, that's relaxing and fun and having the ability to wash up afterwards is nice as we get older. I'm sure prices for fuel will keep on the rise but still...maybe I'll switch gears and look at some duallies
The driver side door decal says 2800lbs for cargo. The glove box says 1975lbs for a truck camper... it'll be something I'll have to consider. The truck weighs 6398lbs. The gross combined weight is 20500. Why rate the truck to pull 14k lbs when the bed can't even handle the weight to go in it to...
I know it looks big, it's only a few feet longer than our current gooseneck. Our current is 32ft, I believe this one is 38ft overall. The weight is within limits and I can check the tires but I've towed our dump trailer with 5 tons of stone without issue and that's a bumper pull.
I'll double...
Most likely don't have more money but probably quite a bit less sense. It's partly the wife's idea to get the bigger trailer. She wanted a 4 horse with the same LQ set up. I'm lucky I talked her down to the 3 horse. If she would've listened to me a few years ago then we would have the bigger...
