I saw where they went to the bigger ones, these are chrome and caliper to 0.75 dead on. If I went with a larger seal kit I’m afraid they’d still leak. I’ll check with my local shop.

I would clean the filter for sure, I’m not an expert on diagnosing. Could be the filter being clogged up, combined with usage and heat thinning the fluid enough to escape the seals.

I was thinking of the JB weld approach once polished up, being that some people use it in engines. A slow moving hydraulic piston shouldn’t be too taxing on it.

From a 1700 operation manual I bought 43-51 ft-lbs so what JC said. I went for the low end, seems to be working so far. I totally dissembled mine and put them back together, nothing has failed yet.

Replacing the seal on my 3pt cylinder piston, old one came off in pieces. Noticed the piston head that moves in the cylinder has a couple deep scores in it. Before the seal entirely failed the 3pt worked, just drifted down after a while. I’m thinking it’s not worth messing with the scoring given...

Heck, someone could have measured one and you could have fabricated one cheaper than that. Parts aren’t cheap, spent about $400 in parts for a valve job on my 1700.
