Added some metal channel framing to the side of my forks so that there is something to attach the ratchet strap to. The straps help keep the logs in place where they are being moved from the lower field to the pile near the house.

I do something similar when I drag Douglas Fir trees and it works great. I have also mounted a winch on the front of my tractor so that I can drag logs sideways to get them lined up for towing parallel to the path.
